Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

lol

I did get a few things done today.
*I put the new to me valve covers on with my new gaskets. They turned out pretty good. The drivers side had me worried for a minute. It was close to the alternator. There is 1/8'' clearance though.
*I got the other license light on.It looks a lot better with two.
*I got two convex mirrors so I can see my dog lol.
*I put some sealer on the plug on the front of the carb.

Nice and bright back there now. I like a lit up rear end.

I bought one of these so the rattling heat riser will soon be history.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Got both trucks out and did a little on both. I ran all over town and found new vented gas caps for Tonto. The caps are different. The one for the aux. tank had a smaller diameter for the center than the cab tank. Tonto doesn't have the evaporator charcoal canister so I needed a vented cap.

I'm thinking it's negative pressure you're eliminating

Oh okay. I filled up today and made a couple good fast right turns and no fuel came out. I was thinking it might but the check valve worked.

I got the hole in the bumper for the trailer wiring plug. The bumper is made with 1/4'' steel so it took a while. I'm pooped lol.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Chuck-
Would you mind sharing the source and part numbers for both your vented caps? I've been having trouble finding some myself, for the in-cab tank, and the auxiliary. Thanks.

The cab tank-Advanced Auto parts- Stant 10623

The aux tank- Napa Auto parts- Its still a mystery on the part #. I told the guy what I had and he went in the back and came out with it. No box. He walked out and put it on and it fit and I said I'll take it. I'll look on my receipt and see if he had put a # on it. It looks like a stant.

The receipt has a part # of 703-1092 for the aux tank.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

I think that will be a big improvement. I think you know how I feel about annoying exhaust noises by what I did with the last vehicle I had that had one, lol.
