Re: Cecil the 1953 5 window / S-10 / 5.7 TPI

Quick update: The transmission was installed last week and all is well. Cecil will be back in Oklahoma this weekend. Chris did have a couple issues pop up with the fuel sender and he decided to replace it.

SKYMANGS:
Duel gauge finally fixed, and horn finished up.
I'm finished with those carport aftermarket senders. This is a stock replacement for 49-53 Chevy trucks, dropped in a new hole in the top of the S10 tank.

Re: Cecil the 1953 5 window / S-10 / 5.7 TPI

New fuel gauge face got picked up tonight. The dash is FINALLY going back together for the final time! I had to pull everything apart (pics tomorrow) to get a good shot on the rear of that gauge cluster. I think the plan is gonna be to take it to my kids school's car show Saturday morning (along with my '49), then load it up and head for OK in the afternoon. It's been a long dramatic story, but it is one helluva nice truck now. Hope you like it Shawn!

Re: Cecil the 1953 5 window / S-10 / 5.7 TPI

Here's my fix for stock horn button on these aftermarket columns. I drill 2 holes. One is for the horn wire, the other gets a small 18ga. Tab welded to the bottom side and fed through the hole. The stock retainer energized the top plate, and used the bottom for a ground. The modern columns energize the lower plate and ground through The top. Once I pull the old switcheroo, the stock horn button works fine.

Re: Cecil the 1953 5 window / S-10 / 5.7 TPI

Chris was able to get the dash put back together and all the gauges are working as they should. Notice the green accent lights behind the gauges, just one of the many special touches Chris put in Cecil

I was going to do a drive video today, but it is difficult to drive and record at thread time. I'll try to get the wife to film for me tomorrow.

Here is a video of Chris showing the working factory horn button modification. If you ever had a doubt about how much Chris takes pride in the trucks he builds just watch this video. He wouldn't allow an inferior horn (bought by me) to be placed on Cecil. He was definitely right. https://www.facebook.com/OSGcustoms/...type=2&theater

Re: Cecil the 1953 5 window / S-10 / 5.7 TPI

Here is the video of Chris delivering Cecil. Been able to put about 120 miles on him and hoping to get a few issues ironed out shortly so we can hit a few cruises in the next few weeks.
