Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

So the road trip went off with out a hitch. No mechanical or electrical issues at all. I did have a couple of annoying squeaks but was able to eliminate those while in Virginia using some rubber stock I brought with me, I also install the passenger door seal while there and that really helped with wind noise. You can see in the first picture I installed the tool box on the left side before we left which really helped for dry storage. In the second is my wife ready to roll. The last ones prove it really happened. I will start on the bed top later this week, I will also need to get some new front springs as I'm getting a little tire rub in a tight turn. Oh and for mileage 17.95 on the first fill up and 18.03 on the second so I'll say 18 highway and will check it for city soon.
Rob

Congrats! I'm glad to hear it went well and there were no issues. That's pretty good mileage too!

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

Nice the trip worked out good, I would say great fuel economy and best part is seeing momma enjoy it, have to build something soon my wife will like, because she usually won't ride in my builds, well not with a smile.

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

Saw your post about the bed wood in the other post can't wait to see that!
Maybe some outdoor stain to make the color pop but either way its going to look cool!

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

Been doing some more work on prepping the bed for the top. I moved the air filter and the battery to the inside of the frame and added a second tool box to the right side of the frame, I also put a 1" notch above the tires for a little extra clearance and started on a headache rack for the front. I will be using a sink drain piece I picked up at the hardware store for a fuel filler trim ring. I think it will work out pretty good. I will be taking a long road trip starting Saturday including: GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TX, AR, TN so I've been at it pretty hard lately.

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

dang personal power tour? I like the filler neck idea. if it were me, I'd make the bed removable. I'm the king of over thinking "hey I might need to get to this someday" but..... you do have a lift, so makes for easy access. I'd be dead if my halftone beds didn't slide out!

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

you might want to make sure there are a couple small drain holes in the sink ring, so it doesn't fill up with water. Just a thought but you truck is looking great. I would like to have seen it a dually but what you have looks good.

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

Actually the sink drain does have about a 1/4 gap below the cap for drainage. As far as the duel rear wheels go, I would like to do that later. Oh and yes the bed is removable, 12 1/2 bolts, 2 quick disconnect wire connectors and 1 hose clamp, even the tool boxes come off with the bed. Oh, and has anybody seen a engine cover laying on the side of, or in the middle of the road? I think I may have failed to tighten the retaining bolt down and mine decided to find it's own way in life on my way to work.
