That scoop turned out nice man! You lowered the front of it some didn't you? Are you using a stock bed front to start with?

yeah i was impressed by the finish.i polished alot of aluminum before which was way easier to get rid of flaws but the result if the stainless was worth the hours of sanding

thanks for checking it out.i started about 3 years ago with a whole different plan.patch it up here and there spend about 1000.00 to get it road worthy and drive it.then i stopped for a while and then because of this place i saw the full potential of these trucks. i was hooked big time.to be honest i did most of my build in about a year and a half.some months busier then others.keep checking back.i will keep it interesting

That scoop turned out nice, stainless is a nightmare to polish. I bet it got nice and hot while you were doing it too. It looks like it was well worth it though!!

Re: Project...praise the lowered

i dont have any close ups but they are kind of like the porter built ones in a way.they were a real pain in the a$$ to make.i recommend maybe buying them from porterbuilt.it will save alot of hassle.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

well we finally had a warm sunny weekend and i spent the whole time opening and closing a hood.some how after a had everything mocked up back when i welded my fenders and cut my hood something got way out of whack.the hood on the passenger side was far from lining up the cowl, big gap at the passenger side fender and was a 1/4 inch too high.so after slotting the fire wall for the hinge bolts, cutting the cowl and dropping it down a bit, cutting the flat bar i used for the inner fender edge then bringing it up to match the hood i think i finally have it in place.also got the hood pins in place.what a pain.but im glad its over with.
forgot to mention we just found out were having a boy.a new hot rodder in the making.i cant wait to make a hotrod baby carriage.

I really like the way you did that hood. Should get less air under it when you're doing triple digits at the big end of the strip?

Re: Project...praise the lowered

thanks for the compliments and the congrats.needless to say we are very excited.i now have to get creative for where the child seat will mount.next winters project.as for todays project i started to lay out the front bed panel and compartment for mounting the goodies.i plan on bending up some aluminum to make a sealed box for a nice clean look inside then laying my wood and steel strips continued from the floor to up and over the box.also im going to build a hinged flip up top for battery/tool ect access.so far so good
