Man Calvin, wish I had a rotisserie, what a back saver. and the stands look great. keeping parts from moving around while working on them is a big deal. also double as a place to paint 'em. nice work !

Yes it does make it nice and thats also why we built the stands, the panels can be worked on and when paint comes there right where they need to be.

Oh yeah it's all kinds of fun! and yes sand everywhere, I modified an old welding hood with a couple rags and it works pretty good on keeping it off the head. I'll have to post a picture of it.

You know it! And the parts are solid, it took me a few years of swap meets to gather up a good core support, a fender here fender there. It's coming along now way better then I could've ever thought it would.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"

Just found this one. All I can say is "WHOA!" Tube chassis, Corvette suspension, LS2 & T-56, wide wheels & tires. This thing is a beast! Very cool and very different. Good luck on choosing a paint color.

And don't ever move away from your neighbor. Ha, ha.

Thanks! It started out very simple and snowballed into this lol I don't regret it though it was totally worth it and as far as moving away from him would definitely be hard! he's quite the fabricator

I went to Tractor Supply and got "Black Diamond" it was a black grit abrasive and it worked awesome! That was the first time I had really done any blasting outside of a cabinet and it worked really well.

Thanks and I couldn't agree more! I never dreamed I would have a truck that could do that but one thing led to another and I think I'm well on my way now lol

Thanks! and no didn't have any warps, I tried to stay off of all the flat surfaces, my main goal was to just hit all the edges, creases, corners and the place that would be almost impossible to get to with sand paper or anything.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"

Here's the picture of my "sand blasting hood" I made, a couple rags duct taped to the front and back of an old welding hood with the dark lens removed. Just had to replace the clear lens a couple times due to it getting blasted on the bounce back but it worked really well to keep sand out of my shirt and off my head.

I don't know if I missed it but my appologies if I did. Where does one learn to fabricate a suspension like that? Is it inheritated, learned, or are you one of those guys who just see's it in his head and can turn it into reality? Pure genius my friend. That is by far the cleanist, best looking suspension setup I have ever seen under a Chevy C10. Just sayin............................

Thank you! I can't take all the credit for the chassis, we tore my truck down last fall for cab corners and rocker panels and this is what it has snow balled into. A guy that is my neighbor/friend that I have know since I was little is giving me the assistance with this one, I call him the engineer lol. My grandpa actually had the Vette suspension and thats what got the ball rolling on this one, it went from integrating the suspension to the stock frame, to building a 2x4 box tube and led to the full round to chassis. He had never built a round tube and said he wanted a challenge this time. It has taught me a lot over the past year but to answer your question he is one of the guys who can vision it in his head and make it come to life, it's amazing.
Thanks again for the kind comment!

It works well! and I do have some progress pics to upload, but no primer yet but we are spreading filler, James thats helping me has always went filler to metal with primer over it. I talked to a couple of local body guys and everyone has different opinions but a lot of them do it that way, never guessed that was the right way but it must work lol
