Now your talking! That looks exactly like the whole bottom side of my son's truck before I hit it with the power washer. It was so nasty it was hard to work on. Glad to see the pics....keep them coming!

Re: John's Project

Hey just take a look at the words of wisdom under my screen name.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. Only reason I'm taking it to the car wash is because I don't have a power washer. That and all the junk can mess up the car wash not my driveway .

Yeah the progress may slow just a bit. As some of you know we have been tossing around the idea of selling the Mustang, and finding a Trailblazer SS. Well I found one yesterday, and we are looking into buying it. So if we get that then the reigns are getting tightened on the budget for a while. Not too much though, just for a month or so to make the adjustment to the new payment. Since the engine is already paid for, and just waiting it will get installed and done. So by the time that is in and ready we should be back on track to continue.

Re: John's Project

Can't hate on something like that. I'm not a dodge man myself, but the SRT8 stuff is pretty mean.

Yeah I talked to the bank this morning about it. They aren't wanting to loan enough for it so I'm may go talk to the guys at the dealership just to see what they can come up with. If they can make it happen then I might have one. If not no biggie. My aunt and uncle let Holly drive their TBSS last night and today to see if she likes them. Of course she does, that was a no brainer. So we'll see what happens.

Yeah you don't realize until you get started how bad it is. I have a steamer with the upholstery attachment I use about every 6 months on the 4x4 since i'm in it so much

Re: John's Project

I know this isn't related to my 84, but I figured it would be as good a place as any. Holly and I bought a Trailblazer SS. We had a 03 Mustang GT, and we really liked it. Only problem was as my youngest daughter was getting older, and taller it wasn't as comfortable for her. Granted whenever we all went somewhere we usually took my truck, but not all the time. Also my wife was getting tired of trying to squeeze all the groceries into the small trunk opening. So she mentioned that she would like to try and find something bigger. She said she liked the Trailblazers, but really hated to sell the Mustang. So of course I came to the conclusion that we needed to get a SS. You get the benefits of more room with the performance like the Mustang. Have cake and eat it too! So that started the search. Quickly found out they haven't come down into price range just yet. They were getting close, but just not there. That's when my aunt and uncle suggested that Holly drive their SS just to make sure she liked it. Well that pretty much sealed the deal, Thanks I think. So I came across one here locally at a dealership that is running a special on their internet. They priced it low, and right in our target range. Well to make a long story short here it is. These pics are when it was still at the dealership. You guys know how good I am about taking pics so I thought this would keep me from getting mauled.

This thing is an absolute blast to drive. It blows the Mustang away. Then you have tons of extra space to boot. Like my uncle says everytime he floors his, "Worth every penny!"

Sorry to get off topic, but just had to share.

I look at the dang things all day. You'll have to pony up about 90k for that one....

But a trailblazer SS or SRT8 jeep will not stand a chance. 555hp, twin turbo 4.8l V8 AWD 0-60 in 4.5 sec

Re: John's Project

I tell you what Dennis. Find a SS to let her drive. That's all it took for Holly. She knew I wanted one, but wasn't sold on it herself. She just texted me a little bit ago, and said " I LOVE the SS".

Congrats on your new purchase! I couldn't get my wife to even consider a TBSS. We ended up with a Tahoe instead. The Tahoe turned into a Lincoln MKX a couple of weeks ago.
