New to the site, and just finished going thru this entire thread. That is an amazingly clean truck! Love the new wheels and stance, but please don't (and I'm sure you won't) get rid of those rallies! Looks great either way though!

Actually I was kind of wondering about you... I remember you had posted quite a bit during drop kit install and thought you were hoping I had purchased the bags/arms instead.

Cole... hang in there man, because I had the same issues you are experiencing. In our area (the rust belt) rust free trucks are nearly unheard of, so I'm still amazed I was able to pick this one up.

Keep an eye out on the trucks for sale on the board as there have been some great trucks sold there over the years.

No huge rush...... I will hold off and wait for the right truck.

If you don't mind could you pm me what you paid for your truck when you found her? The market tends to very wildly out this way so I would love to get an idea of what a realistic # is so I don't let something good get away.

Keith is about right... I won't say I completely stole it, but for the solid state of the truck, I would have been a fool to let it pass. Rust free are two words I will look for in any future purchase, and will pay accordingly.

Now... I did get a smokin' deal for the quality, originality, and history of the truck.

Don't worry Newtz67... the rallys are not going far away, especially with the elusive (sp?) 15x7 6-luggers.

Hey Nate, question for you...... Do you know what the color paint codes for your truck are? I was looking at a 69 Chevy/gmc factory paint code chart and I think the correct colors are: 503 Light Green and 521 White. Can you confirm?

According to the SPID: Paint - 14533AD White/Light Green

As far as the actual paint codes, I have found tpcglobal.com to be accurate for these old trucks. I can't access the site right now (work constraints) but check out their site (tpcglobal.com) and then they have an entire internet library of any make/model you need. Select 1969 Chevy Truck and it should bring up the paint chip chart, and then a second page with paint code info. Sorry I don't have it saved, or else I would post it up.

EDIT - if I don't see you post back before tomorrow morning, I will try to get them for you tonight.

Thanks, I did access the Paint codes for the 69 Chevy/GMC at tpcglobal and indeed the paint codes I mentioned seem to be correct. My SPID was removed at some point so I do not have a record of the two-tone paint codes, however I know my truck was a two-tone green/white because the PO did not remove the bed when he painted the truck all green. You can see the remains of the white paint form underneath the truck on the bottom of the cab. I'm thinking about painting the white back on the truck. What I don't know is did the GMC two-tone follow the paint scheme of the Chevy?

Just read through your whole entire build thread and I am amazed. Those wheels made a world of difference on this truck. I liked it a lot before, but I feel it has become one of my favorites on this board after those wheels and reading this build thread. I hope one day mine will even remotely resemble this piece of work. Great job!

Dylan, I appreciate your kind words about my '69, and it has been a great trip over the last few months. As I considered the new wheels for my truck, I kept looking at the old pictures and thought to myself "Do I really want/need to do this?" "Don't I just need to get different tires on the 15's?"

Well as we all know... new wheels won.

all of those colors look great except the dark yellow (81348?) looks like a rash or something. i dont think i have ever seen one with that color on it? i know chip charts dont do paint justice, though. thanks nate

I've already got one going on! Check out the link in my signature. Actually just ended up getting all of the stuff for my 5-lug conversion. Hopefully after this weekend I'll own a 455 big block to drop in it as well. How much did those wheels run, if you don't mind me asking.?

I know what you mean. The 'light green' had to grow on my over the years, which I'm glad it did, becuase when I had the opportunity to buy this, there was not question. Actually the ironic thing is that my '72 was this same color underneath.

Dylan, I will have to check out the build thread and see your progress. I have to tell you, I'm missing the sound of a V8, but the bank account isn't.

As for the price on the wheels, they were not cheap. Depending on the size of wheel ran, they vary quite a bit. Check out Billet Specialties website for the price/wheel they have available. IIRC, shipping is around $30/wheel. So like I said... sticker shock, but the end result is well worth it.

Thanks Kyle! And those are my thoughts as well.

The next 'project' will be a bigger house with more garage space, so until we can find that, I'm going to be stuck with the one I've got. Unless.... a certain project becomes available.
