Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

So your saying the 6.0 LS with the Allison is not a good combo for the C40--C80 1964--66 trucks. Can you explain why the 366 or 6.0 LS engine would not be a good combo. The Duramax V8 with an Allison.its a little pricey.I just want to know what are the take a way's from using the gas to using the Duramax.I've had a 1964 c60 a few years ago love the body stance and the way they looked and how they drove

Can you make the 2 speed slitter work with the Allison

I believe you are referring to a 2-Speed Rear and I've never driven one with an Auto Trans, but I have heard that yes, it is supposed to work.

It's just personal choice. A factory 6.0 LS (364 cubic in.) is only rated for 380 lb.-ft. of torque. That's more than most engines from the '60s, but even the earliest Duramax makes around 500 lb.-ft. Honestly, I can't speak as to what would fit with a split rear end, but you could attempt to contact Advanced Adapters. They claim they make the widest selection of adapters. Even if they would help on that kind of project, you (or whomever) would be the first ones to do it. You might have better luck getting an adapter made for mating the Duramax to a manual transmission that can handle the torque. You can take all of this talk into consultation, because I really know very little about trucks larger than a C30/GMC 3500.

I played mix-an-match with a 392, 4 Bbl IH and an Allison in a truck with an Eaton 2 speed axle.. Just back off a tiny bit and shift. It wokled fine.

Naaaaaaaah! I'm with Bill on that choice. When I was old enough to ride with my dad in his Astro 95 moving pieces of his farm equipment I used to fall asleep to the sound of the 6-71 under me.

I believe it was in 51. My 51 has one piece window doors on it and every so often somebody comments "That can't be a 51 it doesn't have wing windows." I really don't know if they were replaced or if it came from the factory that way as we bought it that way back in 89.

Re: The Ulitmate Craigslist find thread

Not many of these left in original condition with seats.

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/a...523739075.html

We have a great running 1963 school bus that was a church bus in Eastern Washington. Runs great, interior immaculate and body in great condition and ready for you to design your own camper or tiny house. Ready to drive to Lake Washington or to New York. Here is the following work that has been completed:

New points, plugs, points, condenser, cap, rotor, plug wires. New starter and alternator. Battery holder, alternator bracket, fan belt. Replaced exhaust manifold and intake/exhaust v. Replaced all the brake wheel cylinders had brake shoes, relined via Napa. Cleaned fuel tank, rebuilt fuel sending unit. Cleaned and repacked front wheel bearings, lubricated the front end, ball joints tie rod ends.

Clear Title
Straight six manual
Chevy
Regular Gas
Tires in good condition
We drove it from Eastern Washington to Seattle. Bus is solid but your not gonna go 70 in it but it will get you to New York if you need it to.
