I have two vents on my tank. I have never had that happen to me

Where are your vents installed? I know the caps are vented (source of the leak), but if there are other places to install a vent so I can use a non vented cap that would be great.

There are stock tanks out there that have two vents. I will snap a shot for both of you to see. One will be the return line for the fuel injection. The others will vent out the bottom of the floor. I will take pics so you can see what I am talking about. If that do not have the factory vents drain the fuel and pull the tank. I would weld a bung on and vent it out the bottom.

This is just a rough lay out of the wiring. I will loom all of it and attach it to the frame. It will be really clean.

Do you know what year/model trucks came with those tanks? The PO removed the in cab tank and put in a below the bed tank that hangs low. What gas cap do you run?

Oh and I keep forgetting to ask you if this truck will be making a debut at the Brothers truck show in So Cal? I noticed Tooties was there last year.

I believe the vented tanks were in 72 1/2 ton trucks only

It will be at brothers. These trucks came with extra tanks. I pulled this one out of a 1970 c10 short bed half ton truck. So they did come in half ton trucks.

I'd like to, I had a great time out there last year meeting all you guys. I haven't booked anything yet but I'm going to start looking into it now, last year I didn't book my flight until a few days before I flew out.

Re: Cheap trick patina 70

Quick Napa search, '67 and '72 gas caps are different part numbers. Doesn't say if either is vented or non-vented but I bet that's the deal. I'll wanna go with the tank vent, just curious where it taps the tank, how the vent line is run and if there's any baffling involved. This thread is ready for some more pics anyways right?

Haven't commented in a while, so I figured I would echo what everyone else keeps saying, awesome build. Loving every thing you're doing and enjoying seeing it come together.

Awesome build Eric, is your truck the 518 medium green. Something about the green trucks that when the paint fades on them just looks awesome.

Were you able to snap a photo of the gas tank with the vents?
