Nice, I am sure you will make some sweet stuff inside. You have done well on the outside, keep it up man!

Re: Project '86

Thanks, I am planning to make door panels, headliner, kick panels, cover for rear wall. Basically everything. Planning to cover it in a nice vinyl or preferably leather if I can find a good deal somewhere. I want to do a dash swap but don't know what I want to use. I have to find some time to wander around some wrecking yards looking for old steel dashes.

Re: Project '86

If I were going to do that I would have suicided the driver door. No way did I do all that work just for the passenger...

No, I like to keep things simple. I'm not a fan of a lot of mods...

Seriously though, that will be it for the body work. The interior; however, is a whole other ball game

Re: Project '86

The only other thing I would consider doing is shortening the bed 1-2" to help it blend a little better with the chop top. I likely won't do it because I am so far along already but that is the only mod I would consider at this point.

would that be 2 inches in front of the rear wheel or behind? or both?

Re: Project '86

Just the front. The wheel is offset a bit in that direction when layed out anyway and that keeps me from having to deal with the taper at the rear of the bed.

I bet you are glad you put the windshield back in, cracked or not. And we are getting nothing up here in Colorado.

Re: Project '86

The track width is narrowed 1-1/8" per side. This is with it laid out and before I trimmed the fender lip...

Re: Project '86

Just ordered my heim kit and frame notches from Suicide Doors. Going to pick up a rack and pinion in the next day or so and order my steering U-joints.
