So anyone that has worn out hood hinges or a set of Porterbuilt hood hinges knows that you have to wedge your fingers between the hood and grill to get it open. Well, surfing through the for sale section of the boards, I found this little gem sold by member Pickemup.

I have to say 30 second install and works like a charm. The only modifcation that I might make is weld the spring to the mounting plate as it jingles around a bit.

He is only offering these for a limited time, but is a perfect solution to the problem.

Where/how did you install that?

This is what I did. Similar, but just tacked on. Might break off at some point.

I ordered a pair of them I have yet to try. I will only need one of them, I'm hoping they work like I expect.

Well, I hope this works.. I helped do this on a previously owned truck and figure I'd give it a go on my own for Roxy.

This what they look like installed. I really need to take a welding course. I guess my next step is to build the frame work for the false floor.

Those wheel tubs look awesome! What kind of welder do you have? Looks like an auto-darkening helmet over there.

Hobart 140. I love the auto darkening. It's just a cheap one, but works well.

I've also got a little Hobart MIG and LOVE it! The day I got an auto helmet made me a much better welder too. Looking great!

I've come to realize I hate paint and bodywork. It's so expensive! However, I know that between materials and labor it pans out and I know someone skilled in that trade should be paid for his/her time.

I've thought of different methods of paint, from single stage, to single stage flat (spraying it myself) to having the truck rubber wrapped and even getting crazy and painting it with latex paint/doing a patina with Iron B..

Dilema..
