Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone

Well I pulled the inspection cover off the trans, stock convertor it was, so out came the trans, Tyler came over and helped me tonite, thanks bud. what a pain in the arse it was, i could not drop the trans al the way out unless the headers come off, not a fat chance of that!!!! took the exhaust off and a few other things, made a huge mess!!!! but the convertor is out now. I do not know who at hooker designed these headers but they should be shot!!! Anyways it goes back in tommorrow nite, and then all is good there, picked up a few more things that i need to change in order to get this to run on the street today. Thanks guys. Nite everyone.

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone

SHE'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

again, with a vengence this time. Ok I have to explain this first off. Graham, I am sorry but you can scold your son LUKE, the instigator in this matter, he provoked it and he needs the punishment not me> Ask him the reason why this had to happen. Only time it is gonna with me thou. But after all the changes she runs alot better not, idles at 1300 rpm in park, drop her into gear and she idles at 700 rpm. nice lump to her. we are gonna let the engine settle in a little more now and then do the final tune. but she is up and running, stopping, turning, braking.................ALL GOOD, NOW FOR PAINT!!!!!

Nice build James. You do some nice work man. Now all you have to do is trailer that thing to Rod for some shinny paint I'm sure he would love to do that one if you don't already have it booked in somewhere. Latter

Re: 1969 Camaro "Yenko" Clone

First I have to say, I have never done a headliner in my life before!!! I was very nervous about this cause I know they can be difficult to do< I got a few great pointers from a friend of mine "Sedge", he does them for a living. Anyway on Sunday morning it was time to do it and it is easier to get 2 ppl to do it. Well I got a ph call from Don, my father in law wondering if I wanted some help, I was very hesitant at first, I hardly ever get help, but I accepted. Both me and him were nervous about soing this headliner. all in all, it turned out AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it took us a bit of time, but not bad at all. I just want to say Thank YOU!!! to DON for the help< i could not have done it without you. And it was a blast working with you!!!

Awesome work James! Did you say you sewed the headliner? or just installed it? I will have a ton of questions for you when I get started on mine. Keep the pics coming. BTW the body prep pics look like it took just a few minutes and we know you spent some serious time getting that body smooth. Funny how pictures only tell part of the story.

Hey James, what is that in the rear window channel? Is that just new Butel (sp?)? When I pulled my trim there was a big channel for water to just sit. I want to eliminate that, do you do anything special around the back window, especially at the bottom?

Looks amazing as usual!
