Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

Lot of weight for that little motor to pull. The straight six's are not much (sometimes even worse)better that a V8 for mileage. Even in a car, which is still 3000+ lbs to push around. What you getting 12ish to 15ish???

my guess would be leakage also, my 250 pulls around my c20 and gets fine mileage,

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

was the tank completely empty when u put the three gallons in? i remember u asking how to drain the tank, if it was the three gallons would barely cover the bottom, and the in tank line and filter don't touch bottom so it may be pulling fumes, not liquid. it may still be leaking lines but the best way is to fill the tank run it around a bit then fill again and calculate mpg if seem excessive then leak probably, plus this motor hasn't run in awhile im sure it will get better once loosen up.

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

Yeah where sure of no leaks.
And I know my truck gets better mpg.
Tank was empty when gas was put in seems to just eat it up.

Your fuel pump could have some bad sels and pumping it into the crank

It's b deck. Like a roofing material 22 gauge. Once we screw of down it will be ridgied. U can walk on it now an it hardly goes anywhere. It was in the yard and free

I don't think it will be that head to clean.
Yes it was wood.. But wood is expensive and needs to be upkept to last. The wood that was on this truck was rotted bad. But I still have it.

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

That looks clean man. When it's finished, it should be hard to find the seams.

As far as keeping it clean...not at all. a quick hose down while parked on a hill and all the little nasties will come right out.

Are you going to thrown some truck bed liner on it,. or some paint..leabe it as it is?

Way to use what you have man, that's what it's all about!

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

Thanks Sam.
Yeah that is what it's all about. why go out and spend money when i can make stuff we have sitting around work.

I'm plaining on brush painting it with tractor paint on the bottom. and spraying either that tractor paint or using the blitz havent decided yet. but not going to bed line it. it'll be black tho.

I got it just about ready to be painted, all the ends are capped off and cleaned up.

Personaly i think it looks pretty kick as.

random pic i found. i love k5's

Been busy with school biking and the lady friend. But finally getting something done again. Plates for the truck are in the mail. Can't wait to fill her up. Just in time for 3$ gas prices.
I'll have pics when I install the bed.

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

haha yeah a lady friend
she likes them to a point. she would rather see them all done up than ratty like. haha
like ill point out some rusty Chevy running around town and she's like ickky haha
oh well shes gotta like them tho.
no work today cause the paints still tacky but i should be laying the bed in tomorrow. im screwing it down with self starters so it shouldn't take to long.
then im gonna spray the whole bed blitz with the gun.
should be fairly nice when im done.

and i should be driving it soon.. still trying to find a job. applied a few places waiting on calls back.

no plans really. i did find a air cleaner set up that looks more like the stock set up. rather than those to od looking air cleaners.

ill toss some pics up the trucks kinda dirty cause we haven't had a break from rain all week... but all in all its holding up to the weather.
