Great buy! I would leave everything as is and add a 5 speed overdrive trans. It would work great with that 4.11 Posi. It would be pretty much a bolt in swap and would be 100% reversible if you keep all of the original parts.

Just my 2¢ worth...

50 bomb not a bad idea. I should have all 4 new tires on tomorrow. It all depends on finding 2 wheels to go on the rear. A local yard has a few, but they seemed a little steep in price. I called all my feelers today and came up with nothing. I studied the yellow paint today for a while. I'm goin for it. I will fake in spots that come up not blue. I think it's gonna be worth the work.

Yes, Both the standard fender emblem/series number and a CST emblem on the door. Here is a 508 blue inspiration picture that I notated for you as well. Also a factory '67 photo clip of a CST Suburban. The CST emblems are just behind the mirror base centered at the top of the door below the glass.

Thanks Tim, there was white paint on the top that I sanded off. I'm an idiot. The nubs are gone for the paint break trim if it had trim, not sure. Oh well. There is blue paint under there so it's all good...

NO NO you are correct, I misrepresented the truck in the picture. The pictured truck is in fact a 538 code truck (508 dark blue and 526 ivory. Your truck being a 508 is a monochrome truck. The grill area has its trim color but the whole of your truck "as built" (including the wood) is dark blue. Sorry about that. Bit distracted here with a rattle snake getting into my dog pen again tonight.

Leroy-b1, I'm using 150 wet dry to knock down the top layer then I'm using 600. You gotta be really careful. I'm gonna switch to a finer grit when I continue. The 150 may be too aggressive, but it works good to get in and knock down a lot of paint quick..

No, it would be nice to have just really not heavy enough for me. As much as I like the '67s I really don't see one in my future. The exception would be of course a '67 K20 panel truck but then that wouldn't be a full time dog truck. A C30 Longhorn is to likely be my next Chevy. With a few period mods. though.
