Cool Re: Was suppose to be a home depot hauler.

After dropping the motor in it was difficult for me to get it running. Learned how to set it to TDC and learning that tightening the rockers too much wouldnt allow the engine to turn on. Also could be bad for the other internal parts in the motor. Finally got it somewhat decent and started to notice water was gushing out of somewhere

Re: Was suppose to be a home depot hauler.

Found my problem....turns out it was a freeze plug in the head and that too was a mission to find the actual size. Went to an older engine rebuild shop and the dude gave me 3 freeze plugs that were the size. Boy was i grateful.

Re: Was suppose to be a home depot hauler.

once the truck ran again I drove it to a shop and got my exhaust done. Straight pipe. Told the guy I was thinking about bagging it so he ended up bending the pipe over the differential....after that my exhaust blew out again!

This was like the 3rd time. I then tried 3 different gaskets 2 different intakes and nothing. Finally after months of it being down I decided to take my head intake and exhaust to get them surfaced

Re: Was suppose to be a home depot hauler.

Head wasnt bad. He put new valves. Intake was slightly off and the exhaust, that was my problem. It was not straight on the flange side so the machinist surfaced it....also got new spark plugs, wires for the spark plugs, and a new coil
