Many varable such as wind and hills but you get much closer to the correct number. Also losing the tailgate helps bunches too as well as electric fans and good exhaust with headers. A sharp tune on the carb with an efficiant intake and your about as close as you can get. Anymore after will net small changes but worthiness is is up to the driver. Posted via Mobile Device

My bet is that it will settle out to around 14 MPG.

Re: 9.5 MPG!!!! Please Help!!!!
Well i drove it to work again today 53 miles round trip and went back to the gas station topped off and it used 3.7 gallons which come out to be 14.32 which is about 5 mpg better than i was getting. So i believe these results now...lol...turns out last night the pump i was on was kicking off early because of the angle i had it at...so today i filled it till i could see it in the neck..lol...and
repeated that step when i went back....well now on the a electric fan and a alternator upgrade..thanks for the help!! |

Re: 9.5 MPG!!!! Please Help!!!!
At 55 mph the tach says 2000 rpm and it climbs up the hills with out down shifting where it was always in and out of gear before. The cam I have in there is a RV cam and it makes its best power at 2000-3000 rpm so I have found that if i can keep it around there as much as possible it helps my MPG..

Peak torque is where it's most efficient so your Definitly in the right rpm band.
