Re: Help with tire size dropped axle Sub/Truck

Me too just ordered tires today. Was originally going with 70 series, but the taller 75 series has a narrower aspect ratio to clear the tie rod and also closer to the 29" height in the rear that I am currently running and like with the 700r4 and 3:73s with the inliner. Man, my head has spun worse on this wheel tire thing with drum and dropped axle than anything else on my burb. Building a front plate, pully system and hanging a 4-71 supercharger on the side is going to be a lot easier!

Correct boss.

Here is a good basic article on wheels I refer to:

I bolted up a set of wheels last night. 265/75-15's on what appears to be 7 or 8 wheels and they rub. No idea of backspacing.

I will pull a wheel tonight and do some measuring.

There are some of these lowered trucks with leaves removed.....and claim no rubbing. Sure looks like they would though.

COACH:

Yep. I have had really good results with the Hancooks turned WW and even though they are .7 inches taller with a 1.53 inch additional runout, the gearing calculator seems to read ok in my target rpm for 4th gear. A little more "Ganster stuff" always looks good anyway.

I'm more excited to get the wheels from Wheelsmiths. I have a TON of fineline masking to do to them before painting the hoops before I can mount the tires.

Ha.......not that I really need them yet, but I am damn excited. My rims from Summit are coming on Thursday, the tires might show up on Friday.

Heading out to the garage shortly to burn the midnight oil and get my rear suspension done so I can roll this baby out of the garage this weekend!!

Well, I went with Wheelsmith's because of the reputation , quality wheel, follow up etc. and hoped to have rave reviews posted here. I even asked Chris to send some photos of the process and I would post them on the forum to "show off" what they do, no pics after the sale. So far I have made every call except for one ( 2 days after asking for a price on wheel combinations) and I still do not have a set of wheels that I ordered last month. I type this as I am on hold with them again and listening to excuses.

Well, still not shipped. If I don't have a tracking number by monday, I am cancelling my order with http://www.thewheelsmith.net/ or the wheel smith company and going to Vintiques.

Foot in mouth from my previous post that " good things come to those who wait" nope, not from them I guess...

Re: Help with tire size dropped axle Sub/Truck

I got my Artillery Wheels 15x8 & 15x7 from Wheel Vintiques Powder coated red.

My Tires BFG wide whites 235/70R15 & 215/70R15 came from Jegs.

I may have to upgrade to 255/70R15 and matching wheel depending how they fill the wheel wells.
If I do the 215's will go on my trailer. (no not the one on the lift) This one.
