Re: Jim's 1966 SW BBG

Not at the moment on the 5 lug rear. Wanting to put original hub caps and steel wheels. Original 1966 6 lug wheels won't fit front 6 lug disc so I ordered 5 on 5 to use 70s wheels on front.

Here's a little Heads up for you…

Been watching your build, will continue, I like where you are going...

Anyway, Clemdaddy is over in Fayetteville Arkansas and has a get-together the third weekend in October… I was able to attend this past October and had a great time talking trucks, and meeting a few of the members that made the trek to NW Arkansas.
Not to mention getting to see Clem's little slice of American Automotive Heaven.

Was great to meet two of the Oklahoma Guys…

I like the build!

I used 73 4x 1/2 ton disc 6 lug wheels up front and out back. Accepts stock caps and a few others. I think they were most bcommon from 71 to 77

Re: Jim's 1966 SW BBG

Got my new CPP master cylinder and booster on. Drilled 2 holes and bolted right up to fire wall and pedal. Got new tires on steel wheels also found a nice set of original hub caps. Can't decide on color on wheels white, black or maybe red. Drop spindles dropped just what I wanted in front.

The later model 4x4 6 lugs steelies will work w/disk brakes and accept stock hub caps....I see you 've already gone to 5 lugs though. Nice work.

Re: Jim's 1966 SW BBG

Been a few weeks since doing much. But got after it yesterday. Bleed brakes fixed line leaks, put bed back on, topped off fluids, fixed lights added custom milk crate seat ( seat is in upholstery shop) . Started and drove up and down street for the first time. Exciting!!! Another 66 back on the road after many years.

Picked up some parts at local swap meet. Polished up and installed aluminum grill, factory radio, rear chrome bumper and some of the side trim.

Re: Jim's 1966 SW BBG

Ended up changing flywheel after having starter noise problems. Changed out door to Sinclair. Drove on highway first time with less than 10 miles on truck it quit running . New distributor went out. Another ride on the wrecker. Dropped in old HEI and running again.
