Can I play too?

Aftermarket tach. 80s Suburban clock. Trans temp and fuel gauge for the one saddle tank I have.
Since my radio has a clock I'm thinking about changing out the clock for a volt gauge. If I do that I'll have to scrounge up a new plastic lens and polish off the markings behind the blank tach hole and vacuum/air hole.

After looking at everybody else's setups I realize I really need a new, shiny bezel.

Lots of guages on this one. I like the use of the rings that let you angle the guage the way you want it. And mine.

When you take the bezel apart, you will see that the numbers are on the glass. Then you simply paint the piece below it. The glass keeps the numbers intact with a different color behind it. Here's one my son did for an art class project.

Here is my hack job in it's current state. Well, almost current state. It is now fully welded all the way around the perimeter, and I have the holes cut for the cup holders at the bottom of the center section.

Yes. It's 3/4" birch plywood for the structure. And skinned with phenolic. I'm going to build a phenolic glove box cover, and a phenolic bezel piece to cover up the hacked out radio hole the PO cut. I'm on the fence as to weather or not it's gettting painted. I love the look of the phenolic, but it'd be the only brown in the interior. But I've got plenty of time to figure that out while I'm workin' on the rest of the truck.

I was thinking about engine-turned and seeing Corn's really helps. So Corn, did you do the turning yourself? I've read about using pencil erasers in a drill press to do the turning, but really would like to know how you did yours.

I have a 1969 C10 in which the previous owner mounted Auto Meter gauges. I recently had to pull out the dash and discovered a RAT'S NEST of wires! Complete mess. Every gauge works, but there's a million miles of wires.
I'd like to wire the gauges to a central connector so I can pull the dash and disconnect just one wire connector.
Does anyone have pictures/instructions/etc for that?

Here's a shot of my Dakota Digital VHX setup in my 67. Wanted classic looks with modern technology. Don't have a night shot, but the backlighting is blue. I installed this because I sell and install DD in my business, so I use my truck as kind of a "this is what I can do for you" type display. BTW, thanks to a board member for the bezel from a 68-69 that eliminated the manual choke opening!
