Your pictures of your truck look great Jewels. That is one fine looking truck. Do you do the work on your truck yourself?

well, for the most part. i have had to limp along because i don't have my own garage. so generally, i will pay someone to let me use their space (and often their expertise), and i will do the work away from my place. i usually get a good price when i promise to do all the work myself. i didnt do the actual painting - but only because i kept getting too much dirt in the paint, and scotty (the paint guy) kept getting mad at me. he finally took the gun from my hand, and did it himself. but the body work i learned at a shop (i'm not very good at this - hee hee), ilearned the engine rebuild from a local backyard mechanic (an under-the-table business that he runs). i did with my own two hands, but with their instruction. its been almost ten years of labor. whew! it might also explain something to mention that i am a mechanical engineer - which is why i got started on my truck in the first place!

(sry - dont think i have every typed that much in my life! i hope i answered your question! )

Wow I am very impressed. Not many women work on automobiles. Well from the looks of your truck you did a fine job. I am in the same boat without a garage, it makes things very miserable for me. I just did the early classic disc brake conversion and all new coil sprrings and all new steering components working on gravel. At 56 years old it was hard on me in the gravel. Great talking to ta ya, keep up the good work.

Just got back from the show Randy mentioned earlier on this thread. Got to meet him and Stano, and, besides theris, there were a couple other nice 67-72s there and a really nice '56(?).

Stan and Randy both have great trucks (as if we didn't already know that!), and they're both great guys (as if we didn't already know that).

We talked to the owners of some of the other tricks; maybe we can get a local group together. . . .

Well firedog to put an actuall time will be hard right now. I do know it will be after 10:30am. I have not heard from a friend of mine yet. He owns a '02 Dogde Viper red and his father has a black '79 swb chevy truck. They will most likely be parked together. So if they are there i will be around there hanging out. If you want my cell number just pm me and I will send it to you and just call me when you get there.

Mudder thats a shame you cant bring your truck but it would still be great to meet. Well that goes for anybody really just show up and have a good time.

Has anybody been to the cruise night at the Long John Silvers in Arnold Mo.. They have some nice cars there also still worth the tripto see. Jim

It turns out my buddy cant put his viper in the show. They don't have a class for it. I plan on being there around noon or so and I hope for a big turn out. I'll keep an eye out for you though anybody else might make it? Jim

Sorry

Sorry I could not make it to the Amsvet show. My drivers side rear break cyclinder decided it would toast my brake shoe. Starting to think this truck is like the car in the Christine movie. Then the parts store gave me the wrong wheel cyclinder to boot. I got the breaks all fixed not but was not too happy missing the get together. I hope everyone had fun.

Firedog,
Do I understand you have a complete 68 cab or just the a/c?
I maybe interested in both or either.
Thanks,
