Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
Tell me about and this was a complete assembled blazer back seat. Lol. They assured me it’s not lost

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
I called Greyhound, and the agent said many of the smaller bus terminals don't have the resources to scan packages as they come through.

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
Greyhound tracking sucks, I've never had any bad luck yet but almost, they lost a set of seats for about 2 months. Well they showed unload at a terminal and never reloaded, apparently there storage facility was a different building so they set there until I called them about it. A few days later they showed up at the correct terminal.

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
I went to the Sacramento Greyhound terminal on Saturday to see if I could find out anything about the shipment. The only thing the guy was able to tell me is that it should have gone through the following cities:
Portland, OR Stanfield, OR Spokane, WA Billings, MT Minneapolis, MN Chicago, IL Gary, IN I will call Greyhound tomorrow and ask them to do a trace on the shipment, which I believe consists of calling each of these stations. |

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
Thanks for checking on this. I would be surprised if it had made it to Gary already.
Lmk what you discover. |

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
I called Greyhound just now. The agent called the Gary, IN station and the shipment wasn't there. She called the Chicago station, but they didn't answer. She said I should allow up to one month for the shipment to arrive, as shipments are sent based on available space. If it doesn't arrive within one month, then I can file a claim for a lost shipment.

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
I'm hoping for the best. If it doesn't show up I guess I'll deal with it then.

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
I'm assuming you haven't heard anything from Greyhound, right? Tomorrow will be 30 days since I shipped it, so I will call them and start the process of filing a claim. If they say enough time has passed to file a claim, then I'll send you a refund.

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
I submitted a claim with Greyhound. It will be interesting to see how long that takes. It looks like they won't refund the shipping cost. I'm going to try to reverse the charges for that on my credit card after I (hopefully) receive a payment from Greyhound for the insured amount.
At the Greyhound terminal in Sacramento, they use the outdoors bus loading and unloading area as the storage are for items they are shipping. Someone probably climbed the fence at night and stole the box thinking there was a bicycle inside. They sure must have been disappointed. I sent you a refund. I'm sorry it didn't work out. |

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
I received a confirmation from Greyhound that they received my claim. They want me to send them a receipt showing the original amount I paid for the door skin. Of course I don't have that since I paid cash for it some time ago from a private party. Without a receipt, they will reduce the claim payout by 25%. Also, they won't refund the $91 shipping charge. I will never try using Greyhound shipping again, that's for sure.

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
I will give that a try, but I think they want the receipt from when I bought it originally.

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
Just got a tracking update as a result of Dave putting in a lot of effort to call around to the various stations. Looks promising!

Thx for the compliment, I try. I'll feel better once I get my hands on it and make sure it isn't damaged. Love the Indiana Jones picture

It arrived at its final destination. Things are looking up. Took seven weeks to get there.

Re: 68-72 NOS Passenger Door Skin
Apparently, the long transit times are related to finding qualified drivers and staff at different terminals amid Covid. The fact that it had a long journey thru without damage, is a testament of how well it was protected. Thanks again.
