Re: My 1954 Chevy 3100 project
Mounted the brake booster/ master cyl with hydraulic clutch. Still need to make fuel lines p, brake lines and hook up clutch line. Also want to make a stiffening brace to the dash for the pedal assy.

I honestly have no idea why the photos Are turning sideways? They aren’t that way when I upload them.

Did you take them camera held sideways thumb on shutter button? Mine stopped being sideways or upside down since i took them as recommended above.

Re: My 1954 Chevy 3100 project
I don’t think so, they are showing normal on my iPad when I upload them. It’s weird how some are sideways and some are not. It’s really frustrating.. when I get some time I’ll try to go back and so if I can somehow edit them?

Re: My 1954 Chevy 3100 project
That looks great! So I have the same motor with the same front to back placement and I used the hooker manifolds but they look identical to what you have there. did you have to notch the frame at all? My motor is slightly off center and the passenger manifold hits the frame but I am concerned that if I move the motor over I won't have room for the linkage.
By the way, thank you for the great photo of your steering linkage. I have been trying to find one that shows how I could make mine.

Also your very welcome on the steering linkage pictures, I searched for days on a setup and came up with nothing, I would have paid $50 for a picture, it doesn’t look like it was hard to do, but I probably have 10 hours alone in it trying to figure out what will work, it’s super tight, but works without binding . |

Re: My 1954 Chevy 3100 project
Nice truck build man. You have a great project. Stay with it. You're young and can do it!
The steering linkage looks good for your first one. You seem to be moving right thru the stuff that hold alot of guys back. Keep posting the pics. The sideways thing is an Apple thing I think. Mine do that too on occasion.

Re: My 1954 Chevy 3100 project
Got the rear axle in, cut the old perches off, set pinion angle, welded new perches, found a driveshaft that was the correct length and installed new u joints. New e brake shoes, calipers, rotors & pads.

Re: My 1954 Chevy 3100 project
So, the truck gas pedal will not work as you can see when I place it on the firewall, it’s further off the floor than the brake pedal.
I happened to have to replace a gas pedal a 05 Chevy trailblazer at work a few weeks ago and dug this out of the scrap pile to make my pedal work, I cut the truck pedal and cut the trailblazer pedal and made one out of them and welded them together, worked perfectly! |

Re: My 1954 Chevy 3100 project
New rotors, e brake shoes, calipers and Fresh gear oil. Even was able to adapt the ebrake cables to the factory parking brake setup. Also Installed the 19 gallon gas tank. Took forever to drill all 12 holes for this! It should serve as a frame stiffener too! (ignore the color of the tank, I got carried away with the wax spray I had since it can get water on top of it when the bed gets wet. ). Plumbed the fuel pump, lines and regulator.

Re: My 1954 Chevy 3100 project
And lastly I installed braided brake hoses and welded the tabs on the frame to hold them, next weekend I’ll plumb the brake lines.
