I now have the engine running and it sounds pretty good. The radiator had a leak in it so I had to fix that. Don't flame me for the back country core support brace...  The under dash wire loom was a mess so I pulled it all out. Notice the two fuses with aluminum foil wrapped around them...  .. I also removed the A/C components and wiring.The cluster had a couple of non-stock gauges in it so I disassembled it and removed them. I think I have another complete cluster I can use for it so I may just use this one for parts. .

Replacement under dash wire loom and complete stock cluster are now in. Both items in good shape that I had on hand. I also dug out a pretty decent engine compartment main power/headlight loom that I am going to use. I think I can save the starter/ignition loom. I will pull it out this morning and check it out. If not I have one I can use. I also replaced the dash pad with a maroon one I had. It has a couple of small cracks on it but it is in a lot better shape than the black one that was on it. Next I am going to check out the brakes and start bolting the sheet metal pieces back on it. Keep in mind that this is not a rebuild or restore project but a get it running and driving safely project because I am probably going to have to sell it since I just purchased my Uncles all original '69 1/2 ton pickup.

I really haven't been dragging my feet on this but I have had a lot of other irons in the fire the last couple of months. I am finally back on it and making pretty good progress on it. New front calipers, pads, and master cylinder are installed. The rotors cleaned up good and are in good shape. Starting to bolt the sheet metal back on it. I had to fix a pretty bad crease in the top of the drivers fender. It had been fixed before and was really thin in spots. I finally got it squared away and it looks pretty good. I hope to bolt the hood and front bumper back on it in the morning. As I mentioned before, this is not a re-build, this is get it driveable and safe project. Someone else can do the re-build on it..... I drove it around the yard a couple of days ago and it actually runs pretty good.

i wish you could send some of your energy out my way, every time i walk out to my 69 suburban i get overwhelmed and walk away. mine needs a solid weekend of work and would be drivable but i just can't bring myself to jump on it

Man that looks cool. If you sell it, I'd be very tempted if I was a bit local-er. Looks like some of that white over-paint might come off with a pressure washer, and maybe the rest of it with some elbow grease.
