April 1 it will be 1 year since getting back on the road. I had it appraised so I could get full coverage. $45,000 I was flabbergasted but proud of what my brother {who did most of the work} and myself accomplished.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

If you’ve followed the market you may have noticed the 25-30 1969-72 Blazers that could normally be found on EBay Motors is now regularly 8-10. In my opinion scams and deadbeat bidders on EBay and BAT are big reasons for that. BAT gets results. On BAT Bidders are buyers. Their seller application is rigorous as is their requirements to be a bidder/buyer. I auctioned my Blazer on BAT and was happy with the process and the results.

I've been eye balling / drooling over this one for a few days now. I'd love to have it. I have a few concerns regarding the original paint claim due to the painted door latches and also the wrinkled VIN plate. I've been following another post regarding the painted door latches and it's certainly interesting to see the differences in the manufacturing processes for these trucks.

What do you guys think this truck is worth? At $50k, I'm thinking it has to be getting close... but I'm no expert. I've just recently started following Blazer sales and I'm hoping to eventually find a clean example that I don't have to sell my house in order to buy.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

The crease on the VIN is puzzling. It would seem that with the examples we’ve seen on the door latch thread that the painted latches are legit. Two low mile square body K5s, one a 74 the other a 75, have sold on BAT both with door latch paint and both original paint trucks so maybe GM adopted that approach

Here’s a nice 72 Highlander survivor that sold on BAT for $58k https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...let-blazer-20/ I can see the blue example in the 60s.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

Not the expert, looks to be almost unmolested 49 yrs old truck. age spots seem about right. White soft top and original wheels and caps add to the value. 50K does not seem out of touch. Others will chime in, I would like to see the floor in the tailgate area.

I am in Escondido and took my Blazer to a local shop not long ago. It is original but not pristine, and the interior has basically not been touched (the exterior was repainted (poorly) and the rest of it is clean, but not a show truck by any measure. The local guy told me "don't sell it for less than $50,000 and I'll give you $51,000". We will never sell it (my FIL bought it new and my wife was 4 at the time and has lots of memories of the vehicle as a child. Her Dad gave it to her some years back and it will stay in the family).

Crazy numbers on these things; I hope you find one reasonably priced!

Surprised no sale. Had it sold for that price the buyer would fork out, what, an additional $5k to BAT? If I were bidding I'd have already called the dealer to try and work something out.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

Looks "OK"...The under hood is a mess. Removed A/C. The transfer case is a NP208. A lot of incorrect or missing parts. Might explain why it's "only" $36,500 with only hours to go..

Hey, at least the black steel headlamp doors are present. That is a huge pet peeve of mine when builders use the aluminum 1971-72 headlamp doors on a 1969-70..Looks like crap.

Re: Blazers and jimmy on bring your trailer auction

I was watching this auction on BaT with particular interest. This Blazer is the closest approximation to my 71 Jimmy that I’ve seen cross this auction site. I actually prefer mine to this one (this is non-CST while my Jimmy is a Super Custom plus there are other things mechanically I like better on mine but it’s still basically stock with original drivetrain). The bidding kind of stalled around $27,000 with several days to go but it took off in the last few minutes and ended at $48,500! That makes me very pleased especially since I have less than $16,000 total investment in mine since purchase in 2017 for $12,000. Yeah baby!

The flesh colored Blazer doesn’t do much for me. Now if it was priced right I might drive it for awhile until repainting it
