Re: Medium Duty trucks
Thanks Steve, I do visit the stovebolt site occasionally but haven't found much info on there that I really needed so far. I do have the accuride part number for the wheels, just wondering if yours were a different brand I could check on that would be more affordable.

Bushy:
Truck still in shop. Snow delays. I will post info on rims. They are not split rims. Truck needed wheel cylinders all the way around, grease seals, two tires, parking brake repairs and various minor repairs. I chose to let them do it as I am not sure when I could find the time. I just bit the bullet and paid. Nice to see your truck in action! Steve |

Baddriver455:
I just got the news from the inspection station. it is not good. I told them to put it all back together. I will pay for inspection and start chipping away at the repairs. it is an extensive list. The good news is that I do not have split rims. The inspection shop confirmed that. I will post here as soon as I can get the info off of the rims. Did you visit stovebolt.com? Bushytlb refered me to that site. It has a lot of good information. Post some pictures of your C-50 to support the site. The more posts that we get the better the chance there is to get our own medium truck forum. Thanks, Steve. |

Re: Medium Duty trucks
Is there really that much demand for 50+ series fenders? There is a 68 C-50 bus near me that is for sale cheap. I just wanted the gauges out of it, but the front sheetmetal is rust free. It does have a few small dings, nothing that can't be fixed. I just didn't want to buy the thing and have to cut it up for scrap.

Re: Medium Duty trucks
I love these trucks. i think it would be cool to make a custom truck hauler from one. just curious (probably a dumb question) but do you have to have commercial liscense to drive one like you do a tractor trailer??? is it based off of hauling tonage??
thanks! (sorry to hijack) |

Re: Medium Duty trucks
Here's the best picture I have right now. I also have a front clip and doors I was going to use on my truck. But I'd like to sell the whole works truck and clip if the price is right.

Re: Medium Duty trucks
The fenders on my truck are all bondoed up and rusting through again. when they repainted it last they must not have done any straightening, just filled everything with bondo.

Re: Medium Duty trucks
What were the engine options like for these beasts? I know GM made a tall-deck 427 for something, like schoolbuses maybe, but could you get it in these?

292 I6, 283 SB V8, 327 SB V8, 366 BB V8, 427 BB V8. The vents on the hoods are only on the big block trucks and the ones with 427s say "427" on the vents.

Re: Medium Duty trucks
There's one at a hotel that I do some work for, from what I hear it's been sitting there for years. I'll try to snap a pic of it next time I go by it.
