will anykind of wire work. do i just remove the rubber grommet and shove it in there?

Dinnut, Not sure what grommet you are talking about onless a former owner installed one. Just pop the lamp in the hole as seen in the pic at the begining of the thread, and run a wire to the fuse box. You can run it to an ignition circuit, or to a constant hot circuit.
you could run it to the cigar lighter if you wanted to.

I just got mine today. Just installed it a few minutes ago. I have a/c and the bulb was not bright enough due to the way the glove box is shaped so I switched it for a 55 SL6 and holy cow. I think next time I need to see in my bed I will open the glove box. Anyway thanks. Jeremy
