Re: 65 bagged farm truck
I did a quite a bit of research on air management and talked directly with accuair at SEMA last year. With the ride height sensors, programable heights and ride monitoring it only made sence. I have put a lot of time into trying to get the geometry rite on this truck and this system is the best way to know everything is in its place consistently . Luckily I bought this system about a year ago when the dollar was slightly higher. I also got it from KMS tools which is a Canadian company so the shipping and brokerage was a bit better.

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
Got a lot done this weekend.finished getting the motor buttoned up and got it set in place. Also changed the pinion seal and got the diff back in. Definitely a lot more room in the garage now. Dad also did a lot of work on the inner fenders and they are now in primer.

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
Been a while since i have posted anything but that does not mean i have not been busy. It took a few weeks for my final big order of parts to come in and i did not have a hole lot to do. I decided to start looking at the wood for the bed and cut and drill the support straps. Finally the parts came in and got the new shifter installed and started dressing the motor as well as a few other things.
. air management painted up test fitting new rad laying out bed strips Last edited by B28; 01-05-2017 at 01:20 AM. |

Also got a new personalized plate for Christmas. Lowrock is a play on my moms maiden name and is also the name of the truck

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
Awesome work! I love seeing someone build their own notches and suspension components too. Gives motivation to those of us who don't want to drop huge $ on prebuilt setups (although I do admit, they sure would be nice to have).

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
Thanks for the reply. I am now thinking that I will use the 86 1/2 ton frame I have for my build. I have a 64 that I want to lay frame with. Can you please describe what modifications you made to your front suspension. It looks like you cut down the cross member. Did you do anything to A arms etc. Use dropped spindles. Thanks for the advice. 👍

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
Truck is coming along slowly. Have been pretty busy and also took a random trip to vegas. Still lots of small task that take a lot of time before she is moving.
hood hinges painted to match body color got a local sign company to paint on Chevrolet onto the valve covers. I am very happy how the engine bay is turning out Interior is starting to come along. got the gauges, shifter and some sound deadener installed. |

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
I have been working hard on some little detail stuff like brake lines, brakes, bearings, ect. A lot of things that I didn't take pictures of. I still have the goal of getting it to the car show at Easter. I am going to have to bust my ass since i have some major projects to finish like the wood in the bead and wiring.
Built some exhaust tips out of a stainless shelf i was given and some old exhaust tips that were laying around. Dad bought some glaze to help this old turd shine also got some small spot lights that change color for under the hood. love the affect it produces. |

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
I have been very busy over the past month trying to get the truck ready for the car show. Some of the major projects that needed to be done were wiring, milling, staining and installing the oak, windsheild, temp exhaust, bleed brakes, polish and glaze and a few other items. Here are a few picture of the progress.
the PL is the original brand from my great grandparent's farm. |

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
After many hours of work we were able to fire it up and drive it out of the garage and onto the trailer. I still have a quite a bit of work left to do on it before it is road worthy but it was sure nice to drive it in and out of the show.

Re: 65 bagged farm truck
Looks awesome, nice work in the bed. I am jealous, still haven't gotten time to work on my 64. Hope you get to enjoy driving it this summer.
