Re: '68 Patina Short Wide

I guess I'm wondering if it moves it forward or lower ? I'm guessing lower to make up for shock length. ...never mind ... figured it out....

Re: '68 Patina Short Wide

Buttoned up a few more little details last night, but let me tell you how stupid CPP is.... They make good products don't get me wrong, but i ordered some of their drop spindles from Summit (cause you can get free shipping) and i received the box that had the correct part number on it, CP4S2. I get the parts out and they are marked CP4S4... well that part number is for a 73-87 c10.... CRAP... mis-boxed parts. I called CPP and talked to someone and his immediate response was, "yep those are the wrong spindles, call summit" ok, no big deal. i call summit get the new (correct) ones on the way. Then i see the packing slip on the outside of the box from summit. I glance at it and says (These will be stamped CP4S4 it's not a mistake)... WELL CRAP.... so i call CPP back once again and clarify... sure enough the second guy i talk to at CPP verifies that's correct. He said the first guy i talked to should have known that.... I did in fact have the right spindles. ALL this could have been avoided if CPP would just slip a simple piece of paper in each box explaining that very thing.... I knew i should have went with Early Classic. haha.

Anyway, it all worked out, and i like how it sits... lol

Re: '68 Patina Short Wide

Got quite a bit done this weekend... installed all the brake lines, and bled the brakes. Brought the truck home to the shop and installed the Boyds tank, ran some fuel lines, and installed the motor and trans... she sits LOW..... i will need some alignment for sure. haha.

What is the intake off of? Were you able to use the truck injectors? What are the fuel rails off of? Appreciate any info you would share, and can’t wait to see this one done. Awesome truck!

Hello are you able to send a close up of the direction in which your CPP sliders face or just tell me if the angled side goes toward the front of the engine or back?

Thanks

I get my transmission back tomorrow and it might be road worthy by next weekend!! I fired it up for the first time this weekend and i have plenty of oil pressure!! this was a junkyard motor and so i had never heard it run, it was such a relief.... We will see if this link to the Facebook live will work here...

Re: '68 Patina Short Wide

Made some more progress this weekend. Basically got her all back together!! I'm still fighting a freaking air bubble in my cooling system and that's got me scared to take it out on an actual road trip around town....

That is cool! I'm jealous that you have the time (and funds) to get your project done and the way you want it. With a 3 yr old and a 3 month old, mine is still waiting for me to add an overflow coolant bottle to it.
