Re: The One You Wish You Had Back

The only vehicle I really miss is my 1960 Healey 3000. It was sold new out of Sheppard’s imports in Tampa. The original owner ordered it just for autocross competition. He had just about every unnecessary part deleted. No radio, heater, carpet, side curtains, insulation. Wire wheels and overdrive where also deleted for weight savings. It also had four wheel disc brakes which where not available normally. The car was extremely fast and could stop on a dime. Sold it to a guy from Ohio who was in Florida on vacation during the summer of 73. This is the only photo I have of it.

Re: The One You Wish You Had Back

‘71 short stepside purchased from the original owner in 1987. A base 6 three speed with not one option. A medium red 42,000 mile beauty, it literally looked ran and drove like a new truck. A BIG difference from the typical used up hi mile beater. Sold me on these trucks. Had 3 months and my brother totaled it, don’t even have a picture........

Re: The One You Wish You Had Back

Well seeing this thread wasn't closed cause other than 67-72's were displayed I'll had to the mix. I bought this 1970 Original Panther Pink Dodge Charger R/t in 1985 looking like in the pics. After a 6 year restoration, without a lot of reproduction parts at that time so did some chasing around for stuff which was the fun part, the resto was finished in 1991. I sold the car in 1993 and to this day dont really know why.

Re: The One You Wish You Had Back

Not a ton of regrets, but this one was special and knowing how the next owner trashed it makes me want to kick myself for putting it out in the front yard in the summer of 1998.

That was my first car...given to me by my brother. He bought it new in '65 and put over 100K miles on it before I got it in '71 (with a cracked block)...so that's how I learned to work on cars!

There is another motorhead guy that lives about two miles from me with a 69 chevelle wagon. My wife thinks it's ugly and I think it's beautiful.

1963 Hawk 4spd with a supercharger. Guy check off almost every option available including disc brakes. Bought it when I was 13 me and my dad redid the whole car. Sold it to buy my first house in 91. I almost bought it back 15 years later but I was a day late

Not so much the car it's the connection with dad

Those Camaros are remarkable, nothing like orange. What year is the van? Looks newer than the one in the side yard (79). It belongs to my son, he's not sure what he wants to do with it, but it runs and stops and many nice parts too.

As much as I loved that '69 SS Camaro (which was a highly optioned vehicle)...I really miss the '78 Beauville 1-ton 12 passenger window van. I have a thing for massive "people movers"...so my Suburban currently fills that need!

Re: The One You Wish You Had Back

The only vehicle I really regret letting go would be my grandfathers 71 gmc truck and in which I finally located it and have been trying to get it back since May of this year. It took me 9 years to locate it and would give anything to own it

I sold my grandfathers 74 beetle back in October of 2015, and ended up buying her back September 22nd of 2018 lol. It drove me insane and don’t plan on selling it ever again or letting it out of my sight

Yes...but at least yours are ALL trucks! I've owned a lot of vehicles in my lifetime...and I will admit that some of them should be "erased" off the list my wife has compiled...but they all served a purpose at the time!

Re: The One You Wish You Had Back

70 C10 . I dont know the exact date that I sold it . Originally purchased from a pawn lot 12 miles away , original Colo. truck that had minimal rust . I restored it and painted it green before the Camaros came out with the same color . Havent seen it since . I sold it because after doing all the work it was too nice to haul crap to the dump !

I do love my C-10, but I know I'm going to get slayed for putting a Ford on here. Wish I never sold this one. 1967 Ford F-100 4X4. Took 9 years to restore.

Both got my attention. It was a nice display piece for the cars and a stand out custom purpose-built on it's own. The one you I wish never got away from me was that gold utility body truck

That one sure was nice! Honestly, that is the main reason I sold my "nicest" vehicles. I should have started out with building a huge building, then start buying up vehicles. Too nice to use a lot and not properly stored ends up bugging me

Mid-60s to early-70s 4wd is one of my favorite segments in the truck world. In '77 I got a '69 Dodge W200 Sweptline Power Wagon. It was already rusty so I did a frame-up using rust free body parts and N.O.S. trim, etc. First thing I did was lift and put 37/14.50 tires on it. Ended up with a 440 Interceptor in it. I liked it a lot. But Mopar sucked for parts support. I did end up selling it... for parts. I was involved in a head-on collision with it. It got hurt bad. Everyone survived fairly well.
