RivRat, Yes that is very low. I can see why you are thinking of adding bags. Mine is only the sheet metal that is the lowest thing, nothing from the frame or exhaust. Thank you for checking.

It sits on an S10 frame and it is about 5" higher then the bottom of the running boards. So when I hit its running board arms. It dents chill up my back when I do it too.

I understand the visor is from a Cadillac about 1948-52ish.
My bracket has a crack in it and it's supposedly made from Zinc so I can't weld it. I did make up some side brackets to attach the ends to the rain gutters. Beautiful truck you've got there, lots of interesting bits and pieces too! |

I'm guessing mine was cut shorter on the ends and then 3 selftapping screws on each side. Im going to try and fab something up to make the ends look better. I love this thing and total props to the guy who built it. It looks like it would be made to order for me.

I have an new AC compressor to install. The old one is making a racket. I have to back out a bolt in the block that broke off that held the bottom of the support. A New 200w radio is on it's way (retro style), putting a 6x9 in the dash and two 4" speakers in the kick panels

This is what my visor brackets are like. My visor is the same width and it's actually too narrow for the truck but I liked the look so much I made it fit. Behind the chrome acorn nuts that connect them together I have 2 rubber bumpers so the bolt heads don't touch the paint. At the rain gutter side the flat metal is welded to a piece of round bar that I drilled from below and tapped for stainless screws. I'm not the best welder but it's only a driver and I can dress them up if I ever try make my truck beautiful. The more important thing to me is that I've done 95MPH with it and it doesn't move and inch!

I drilled and tapped threads for the 3 screws you see in the picture going up through the rain channel (the door just clears them). They screw into a piece of 1/4" round bar, bent it to match the curve and welded it on the bottom of the flat piece of metal.
