Re: Z frames and shaved handles

Any chance you could put some more detailed pictures of the hood hinge mechanism? I'm going to have to do something for my truck since I lost my inner wheelwells.

Very interesting thread Lowride. Credit to you for taking on such a project in NZ where parts are harder to source, similar to the UK I guess. Phil.

Re: Z frames and shaved handles

what else has been done to the front to get it that low? you running dropped spindles too?
I'm looking at either dumping my burb into a 2wd or picking up a 64 c-10.

That's a cool hood set up. Did you design it yourself?

Re: Z frames and shaved handles

thanx heaps guys your comments keep me going. I can't take all the glory tho my mate and i do all the work on this old girl our selves as for the hood it was an idea we had kicking around for our other trucks and it seems we tend to try everything out on the 65 first. we got the basic idea from grunions 63 another site member here. anyway just got my new rims today and they work very well there 20x9 with 6 1/2 backspace what do you guys think???

Re: Z frames and shaved handles

L0wride, you have an amazing truck. Very nice. How do work you latches on your door now? Do you just have door poppers and a remote? How difficult was the install of the suicide hinges and latches? I know that on certain vehicles they can go a little more smoothly than on other. For the reason of door weight and hinge placements and what not. I wanna do it, especially for the cool factor you get out of a relatively cheap modification. But I don't want to get in over my head.

Thanx for your compliment at the moment haven't had time to work on the old girl for awhile so we haven't finished the latches as for the hinges the only problem we had was we had to bolt the top hinge in so if i ever needed to replace the hinge bushes i could get to it.
