A public hanging? Heck this thread is great advertising for him. I think you should have discussed your issue with him first. The part?...What more could be expected?

I ordered a radiator support from him and he was great. He gave me a prive with shipping that was less than other vendors. Then another board member said he had one for half the price so I told Wess I found a cheaper one and he was understanding. In the end, the board member said it was junk and not sellable so I contacted Wes and he got me out a new one and it arrived the same week. He was a great guy to deal with and Ii plan to deal with him again.

It may seem like a cheap piece of metal but here is how I think about it. I don`t have any sheetmetal laying around to make my own patch plus the fact that there is time involved in cutting out the correct size and shaping it to the cab takes time as well. It`s worth $20 to me to buy one that someone else has already gone through the hassle of making and shaping. My truck is stored a hour away from me so I can only work on it on the weekends for a few hours each day so saving some time is important enough to me to buy something like this. I hope it all works out.

Welcome to the board from Kent, WA.

I saw and met many new board members yesterday at the Monroe swap meet and it was really fun. I was accused (LOL) of being an "apologist" for PICKMUP who is another stand-up vendor on this board and local competitor of WES. It is time to weigh in on the side of WES. I have bought from both and they are really great vendors that provide what they advertise. WES will not be home until this evening, I suspect. I am sure he would glady refund your money for that part.

If the part is the gas filler neck hole patch piece...they are made by hand with compound curves since nobody is mass producing them yet. They take lots of skill and some sheet metal tools to produce properly...well worth the $20. Just my 0.02!

I bought a filler panel (dont remember who from) and it was nothing more than a slighly bent peice of metal and i paid about $20 for it as well. Cant say i was either pleased or dissappointed with it. It is what it is and what i expected. I know i would buy one again vs taking the time to make one.

I just installed that gas filler part from Wes last week, nothing wrong with that part. You just have to take a body hammer to it and shape it some.
Wes is a good guy, I get nearly all my parts from him. I ordered both fleet bedsides last week, woohoo

Just make sure you know all the facts before you start trying to warn us not to buy from someone. I for one do want to know when we have a bad supplier but just make sure and contct and if you do not get a reponse right away maby like Wes, he is not there to answer you e-mails at the time. Wes is very good on replys and always did great when I bought parts for my '70 Chevy and always answered any question I had and I would recommend Wes anytime. A very honest person.

To be honest, I would have thought that filler would have cost more. If I had to do all that work, I know I would have charged that much or more. As stilookn said "They are made by hand with compound curves and they are not mass produced". See how many venders will do that. GMC Paul will and he tries to get us more parts mass produced. These are both great venders.

I think trash talking a long time upstanding member of this board isnt a way to become accepted when you only have 7 posts yourself. you should try harder to contact him or post this b.s. on his web site.

I guess it comes down to what is your time worth. Personally I cannot go buy a piece of sheet metal and cut and shape it for thr $12.95 cost on Wes's site. What more would you expect from a filler piece? John

or it wasnt wide enough to hang on with sheet metal screws.

I went with the chicken wire and quick set cement....sanding it was a *****.... but its as solid as concrete.

Well first off, I would like to thank everyone for supporting me here. I have always tried to be strait with everyone and absolutly do not missrepresent anything we sell. As many of you here know I stand behind everything that I sell even if my suppliers do not.
I have been away from my shop since Friday afternoon to attend the Monroe swap meet as a few of you have seen.. Great seeing you guys!! I do not bring a computer with me to the swap meets, nor would I have time to use it if I did.. Just too much stuff going on, too many people talking to me and by the time I make it to my motel I am ready for bed!! I am not complaining, lol but it is exhausting.. On Sunday, the last day of the meet, it rained like heck and we did pack it in early, but we found someone at the meet that had some pretty hard to find parts that he didn't bring to the swap meet. I wanted to check them out, so we did not come strait home and in fact didn't get home untill late in the evening. I did get some nice stuff though...
The only communication I have received from "affalcons24" is a private message from him. No email, no phone calls, or messages. I have responded back to him. I normally do not like to publish company business on message boards, but since he has decided to air out his problem with our product with everyone here, befor hearing back from me, I guess you guys should see my responce. So here it is:
Quote:
I am sorry that it took so long to respond to this message. I was away all weekend at the Monroe Swap Meet. The part that was sent to you was exactly what was in the picture that was provided on our website. I do not manufacture the part in my shop, I also purchase them from a distributer. If you are not happy with the part, I will be more than happy to return your money once I recieve the part back. I will even return the shipping that you paid to us. However you will be responcible for the return shipping, because the part hasn't been missrepresented to you in any way. If you want to return the part, our address is:
Classic Heartbeat Pickup Parts
335 93rd Ave. S.W.
Olympia, WA. 98512
If you ship it in a padded envelope, in the mail, the cost to return it will be minimal. You will also need to call me Toll free at 888-338-2502 with your credit card information so it can be refunded. We distroy all of that information once the order is filled for your protection. I am sorry that you were unhappy with the part. WES
Again I want to thank everyone who has stood up for me here, I appriciate it. I would also like to give an extra thanks to Josh for chiming in here also and standing up for me. I will be in contact with you to see if we can't iron out the vender issues we have, that is if you would like for to avertise on your site. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Now that everyone knows what's up and the issue has been resolved, people might want to stop posting in this thread- everytime you do, it gets bumped back to the top of the forum and it makes Wes look like a butthole (because of the thread title and supplied image)

Just my 2ยข.

You can not ask for any more than that. See, you should have waited. Do not get in a hurry to bad mouth someone. Glad you had a good time Wes.

I saw this post and was armed with good things to say about Wes myself. My son and I took a Saturday and drove up to Oly to meet Wes and check up on the progress of the Garden Truck when it was still in pieces. Wes is a heck of a nice guy and I couldn't see him doing anyone wrong. I am pretty sure that everything good that can be said about Wes has been said here already so I'll leave it at that.

On another note: Good to see you around here again Wes! Hope you plan to stick around.
