Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

Here's a photoshop with the hood closed, roof rack removed, steps removed and lower valence removed. I found this on another truck forum. The other pic is another truck that has been pictured.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

Ugly!...it's been a while since GM inspired me. In fact the last thing I can think of is the 91-96 Full Size Cars (B & D bodies). That's why I have two of them...

I had someone who had a Colorado as a loaner vehicle..said it was a total piece of crap! I would imagine that these will just end up being scaled up pieces of crap!

As long as I can manage it..I will only buy older GM cars and trucks and keep them running....

I think next year they are going to put a grill and headlights on the back too, that away it will look like s*#t coming and going.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

Looks better than anything made between 99-06. IMO

It might not look so bad w/a big RanchHand Deer Smasher on it. That is the only way the 99-06's looked any good to me.

And yeah, what the hell is up w/a roof rack on a truck anyway?

I think the looks could be improved very easily by just changing the bumper to a one color single piece unit. Can someone photoshop it?

Guys, nice job on the photoshops. It would be easy to make this truck look better. Easier than the current slant eyes look is to fix.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

I just wish GM would get on the retro bandwagon like Dodge and build a classically styled new truck.Something for the masses not the SSR.Maybe they could use cues from the 67-72 and make it look new retro.
The one pictured reminds me of new cars.If you took 15 new cars and removed the badging and lined them up,how many of you could tell them apart? How many of you would care?Unless it's a specialty model or high performance and pricey it just looks like every other (Insert the name of any econobox here).

On another new car note.Has anyone noticed the trend in new wanna-be SUV's?I predicted to my wife and other people a couple years ago that "The new generation of SUV's are going to be hot sellers and people won't even realize that they are buying "Station Wagons!"

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

Front clip looks good in the real pic as well as the photoshop. The rest of the truck is too bulbous. I had been hoping they would do a retro truck like the Camero, Mustang, Beetle, etc...

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

Well im sure you can make it look better with a drop and some big wheels, but you would need to drop some good coin on a already overpriced vehicle.

As for the 4x4's, I dont think anything would help.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

I agree, it looks to much like a jap truck. My parents have a 2001 GMC 1500HD and a 2005 Yukon XL. My dad prefers the look of the new GMC's over the chev's and me also. As far as the new SUV's go, there just tall station wagons. My mom has a lease on an Equinox from her work and according to GM it's part of their truck line-up but the only thing it has in common with the trucks is the crappy looking front they all share, and the things built on a car like chassis. What happened to the days when GM was making good cars and trucks.

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

As always, it will take me a while to grow to love the new trucks. When the 99's came out i thought they were ugly. Ended up loving the look. When re-styled 03's front end hit market I swore I would never like them...then ended up buying an 04.

Bottom line is that I'm a GM guy and will always buy GM, no matter how ugly people think they look. What scares me now is that I kind of like the new look already. Wondering if I will grow to dislike it?

I think it is alot better looking than the 03-06's

Its still ugly but with a welder and some time it has pontential.

The 03-06 were just time to start over or quit joking your self and just get the avalanche.

I don't really agree with that, at least in my own opinion. When they came out with the new body style in '88 and then again in '99, I liked them, and still do. When they came out with the Avalanche and the '03 Silverados, I hated them, and still do. The point I'm making is that cars and trucks that I like never had to grow on me. I can't imagine having to say "Yeah, I thought they were ugly when first saw 'em, but now I like it." I think there's a word for that called Denial -- and I don't mean that long river in Africa
