Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Rear Disc brakes by Blackbirds Custom

Well...Well..Well... Trying to call me out.......

I see how this is going to go.... hhmmm.. Lets really see what I said in the october special sale we did.. Shall we....http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...7&postcount=20

To tell you guys the truth, we have not been thinking of doing a sale this spring. We have been busy at the shop with alot of local customers and sales off of another message board..SSHHH....

As I always state, we are an option out of many on the internet.
You guys do know I will gladly tell you replacement part numbers after you have become a customer.
As for a proportion valve. We leave that up to the customer. It is ultimately thier choice how they want their pedal to feal and work.
I have stated before, I have personally installed over 15 kits on vehicles without changing the valve. All of those vehicles are still on the road with happy customers.
I have sold some kits that people have changed out the valve and said it helped.
I will tell you... If you already have brake problems please try to fix that before ordering a kit from us or anyone else. the thought that rear disc would fix the issue seems to not really fix the issue...

Now back to the post at hand.......
I talked with Randy Blackbird, you know.. 'cause were friends

I am not sure how we could do this. He said if there were atleast 5 people from the board SERIOUSLY interested in getting that same type of deal. He would consider doing it for a 1.. I repeat.. a 1 day sale with the crazy business of the shop right now, we can't afford the time to carry longer than that.

So I ask.. If you are serious about getting the "buy a kit without calipers and get free non-ebrake calipers with them" Then Please PM me..
If i get atleast 5 board members by lets say...........Friday........Then would it be safe to say we could make a date for a day next week for the sale.....

Again.. PM me before by midnight Friday night with what type of kit you are interested in...Please only serious customers..

I don't want part numbers or any kind of insider info, but I would like to 'know' & not assume the size of the rear rotors.

Is it possible to share this info?

For which kit?

EDIT:
6 lug is 11 5/32 dia
Of course most 3/4-1 ton kits are a standard chevy 3/4 rotor.. Not all..

Re: Rear Disc brakes by Blackbirds Custom

I have gotten some PMs already about this.... Let me add, this sale is for what we have already... Not special order kits.
We do fabricate custom kits, but will be priced accordingly..

go to blackbirds web site, find the rearend you have (probably a 12 bolt) and if we get 5 board memebers to commit, the deal is:

Re: Rear Disc brakes by Blackbirds Custom

I did this swap when Blackbirds ran the last special, I installed on a saturday afternoon and had it back on the road that nite. Install was a breeze and the only fabricating you have to do is the hardlines to the flex lines and some small brackets to anchor them to the axle tubes. [this is also a good time to replace those axle seals]
I'm really happy with the performance and have had it in ice and snow and the bias is just right with my factory prop valve [this was on my 68 4x4 that is on a 72 chassis so it already had the drum/disc prop valve], I did switch over to a 3/4 booster and coudnt be happier with the kit, ya cant beat it for the price!!

Re: Rear Disc brakes by Blackbirds Custom

Thank you for the good words BLAZERMAN(you still can't have my bud light)

I know I said next wednesday would be the sale day, but I found out yesterday I have a lot of traing to get up tight on before my deployment. Then I would be off here for awhile till I got situated over where I will deploy to..

So I bumped the 1 day sale to today ending midnight the 6th or April.
Anyone who is seriously interested in buying a kit from the sale Please PM before midnight. Here is a link to the other page on the actual parts for sale page..
