Funny how people didn't care there was writing all over the firewall when purchasing new

My 70 C-10 has a job number or build sequence number of 635 on the firewall and on the inside of the passenger's side fender - along with the word "AIR" to let the assembly line workers know that it was going to have Air Conditioning. There is a "B" on the firewall too, for the Baltimore plant.

Seems like for some reason the baltimore trucks especially got more info written on firewall than others. I have three baltimore trucks and they were written on all over the place. My Atlanta trucks (2) have very little info on firewall frame etc. My bb truck had a few odd things 118 under driver's seat, but both 4x4 trucks are graffetied to death, including "john" written upside down on the gas tank.

Dredging up an old thread that I had posted on some time ago. Now that I have had to tear the truck apart again... here are pics of the scribbles in the factory paint.

Hey Gary! Thanks for posting those. I've been collecting both grease pencil markings and painters initials for several years now. I am sure your truck was built at Freemont because I have several painters initials from there. Your D and R initials are the most common. In other words painted by the same guys. I can document the D and R guys working as a team from 1970 to 1972. Pretty cool right? I keep hoping that one day we'll discover their identities. There are several painters from Freemont that did this. I have them from Freemont from 65 to 72. Here is another truck from Freemont with the same initials.
