Can't wait to see what you end up with on your this project. Were you able to get rid of the '67 for this? Or is the '67 still in the stable?

Side note... is that your farm/place in the back ground?
White truck is still here...

Yes, That's the homestead. The poor old barn looks pretty sad but you should see whats in the haymow....

I live in Montezuma so I'm 9 miles from Barnes City and 12 miles from New Sharon. If you ever head this way shoot me a PM and we will get together...

I think the Des Moines fairgrounds swap meet is this coming weekend. I want to go to that Sat. or Sunday and pick up some stuff from Art. (probably Sat.)

I'll let you know for sure what day I'm going. You are welcome to come down whichever day I'll be here...

I probably won't drive it in the winter, except on nice days...

I`ll jot that down.Does the truck have a hitch for future your home? Not trying to cheap-out on the gift. But,things are tight and if the day comes for you to move to a trailer I have a feeling you`ll want to get mobile right quick. Those frying pans play heck on a trailer skin.

It`s tough to have one of these classy 4wds and not even run them when they are in their element anymore.I`ve plowed snow in a couple and drove them daily for ever.I like to get out on my road before the plows whenever I can.Love that salt-free snow.We are usually about the last road plowed since it`s the county line.I don`t mind.

from the fairgrounds website, and Art's ad on Craigslist, it looks like the swapmeet is Friday and Saturday.

I'm going to try and get off work on Friday since my boy is off school, and hit the swapmeet Friday...

Re: I added to the stable today

I just pulled you up on Mapquest, and it looks like I might have to make a trip up north sometime. If you're ever heading this direction, just head south on 63 and I'll meet ya!

You are welcome any time Nate. Just give me a call. We get down that way once in a while, in fact we should be through that area around Thanksgiving. We are going to Houston and coming back through Little Rock & Branson....

I'm also getting some stuff done to the '72 GMC. I put the tailgate on, tail light & backup light assemblies are cleaned up and installed, all marker lights are in, cowl vent is installed as well as door handles and door locks. The grill is in place but not bolted in yet because I wanted to re-build the turn signal assemblies. I finished those up tonight. I will start on the interior tomorrow...

Wow, that is a great truck...I cant wait to see pics of it finished! That color scheme is really nice and clean. I think it would even look great with all the exterior trim.
Incredible looking GMC!
