Re: Ooops

Looks like you might need some hood pins! Great pic... If there was a video camera in there I bet the cops are cracking up that your accomplice got out with camera in hand to capture the moment! I know most of them around here just flash 99 when your in the triple digits..

Re: Ooops

Haha ya it was flashing, then flashing faster, then the numbers turned red. It was great. But I don't have a front plate, and I don't think those would take a picture out the back.... Yes hood pins might be needed! It looks like it is about to lift off!

any cops or people who know cops on here that know if they have cameras or not? I thought it was usually a van parked down the road from the warning sign that took the pictures.
Nope, those don't take pics- only the vans do. However, ya never know when a 5.0 is around the corner....
Be careful dude, I'd hate to hear about you injuring someone else because of speeding.

Oh, also- you do realize OR requires front plates? Regardless, certain intersections have cameras that take pics of your rear plate as well, so if you're hoping to get out of that-it won't work. My buddy still refuses to use a front plate on his little ricer and he's gotten pulled over, but only recieved a warning. I'm waiting for the day he gets a ticket so I can tell him those 4 magic words, I told you so!

You know, you're right. Now that you mention it I've seen them, but in all my travels around Oregon and Washington, I rarely, if ever see them- only the fake ones. I'm going to look into why this is. I know we've had constitutionality issues regarding this in the past so that may be why.
Some places in WA, have permanent digital signs (the size of a normal speed sign) mounted up high that show radar speed.

Re: Ooops

Wouldn't there be a big flash if it took a pic? I do have a front plate, it's just up in the corner of the dash. I don't run one on my Jetta though and haven't gotten any trouble from the 5-0 (and I've been pulled over several times and gotten two tickets) And yes, the intersection cameras are always there, they have made think twice about yellow lights. I think they are trying to change the ones in Beaverton to video cameras, not just still cameras.
