SRV rules. I got several videos of him. 8-27-91 was the day the music died, IMO.

I sent this link to my niece. I figured I'd post it TTT if anyone else would like to see or add to it. Please do. I had a ball stopping to take pics.

Re: My 1/4 tank road trip a "Silly adventure"
the cruise season is gonna be over soon.... go do it again... except now that you are working, you can do a 1/2 tank trip, that should be 100 - 120 miles.

I might have to join.
There ain't much to see out here, though. And quarter tank only seems to be about 40 miles, too with the tiny 18 gal. tanks.

Re: My 1/4 tank road trip a "Silly adventure"
Well after listening to some SRV I was reminded of this thread. It's pretty old but still memorable. Does anyone else want to contribute? If anyone is interested I may do a "1/2 tank Buick adventure"

Re: My 1/4 tank road trip a "Silly adventure"
Maybe between the '68 C/10 and the '36 Plymouth we burned 1/4 tank. On the way to a show:

Re: My 1/4 tank road trip a "Silly adventure"
I decided to follow up on Silly Old Man's 1/4 tank road trip. I didn't really use a quarter tank of gas but I just drove around and took some photos.
Anyways, I drove to Ponder, Texas then onto Krum, Texas and then back to Denton, Texas. The open road shots are typical Texas scenery in the winter time. The first couple shots are of an old Gulf gas station with my 1968 C10 long bed. Then another "newer" closed Gulf gas station. Keith |

Re: My 1/4 tank road trip a "Silly adventure"
open road.
The "small" mountain, which name I can not remember at this time, is believed to have some stolen Gold and Silver hidden somewheres. The legendary outlaw Sam Bass had lived in Denton, Texas for sometime and had come back often to lay low after several stagecoach and train robberies. Keith |

The "world famous" Ranchman steakhouse in Ponder, Texas.
The Ponder State bank was robbed by Bonnie and Clyde in 1934. The bank had gone bankrupt only a few weeks earlier! Keith |

Re: My 1/4 tank road trip a "Silly adventure"
more open road. I didn't actually take any photos in Krum well, because there isn't to much to take photos of. Sorry.
Dentons courthouse on the square. Fine arts movie theater turned a church or something. Keith |

The old stadium of the University of North Texas and the "new" stadium currently under construction.
Another local Denton landmark is the Campus theater. Currently in use as a community theater. Well that's about it. Enjoy! Keith |
