Good luck on your run off. It's always good to have a car guy on the Council! A car guy can keep those silly ordinances like the ones where you get fined for having cars in your fenced-in backyard from seeing the light of day.

Re: Jake 1960 GMC Build Thread

Been a bit since I posted, But good news I won the election. Now back to the truck. The painter has the nose cap and did not like the road tar and such on the back side of the panel. so he sent it off to be blasted. Getting the itch again to be finished. Will start putting some pressure on the painters. I know it would take awhile but I'd like to see here finished this year.

Re: Jake 1960 GMC Build Thread

I’m baaaaacccck, Ok this past week end I got a call from the painter who had the finished the fenders, nose cap and hood quarters (not sure of the correct name) They look great, but we made a mistake on the fenders and brought the black too far forward, easy fix, but he will have to re-clear the paint as he does not like seam and is worried that the clear won’t seal and cause it to separate.

In the near future I’ll be trying to get a bunch of folks over to help me mount it all together I’ll put together a 4-B feed bag. – Brisket, Beans, Bread and Beer. Will let you folks know when.

Re: Jake 1960 GMC Build Thread

That truck is looking great!!! I really like the color combo, too.

If I lived closer, I'd take you up on the 4-B feed bag offer. Brisket, Beans, Bread, and Beer......the Four Food Groups!

Re: Jake 1960 GMC Build Thread

Your story is one that I enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures. So much has happened to you and your family during your truck build. I am glad that you kept at it and now it is looking great! Keep working on it and it will come together!

Re: Jake 1960 GMC Build Thread

Ok Post # 12 (I think) WHATEVER, I FORGOT

The painter and I messed up the black trim on the fenders (brought it too forward) My fault really, did not point it out correctly to the painter. He re-painted and re-cleared the fenders. I test mounted one yesterday to see how she lays.

The Canyon Blue looks really beautiful. The fender rear bolt holes ALL line up, so I can tell that the front Rad support is too low. Will adress that this week.
