Many times! A couple of 'em I was even sober! Worst one was when I went to see a friend that lived about 12 miles out in the country. He wasn't home, and when I got back in my truck, it wouldn't even turn over, dead battery! He was out on a date and spent the night at her house. Got down to 35 degrees and all I had was a light jacket and a rain poncho in the toolbox that I wrapped around my feet and legs. Not a good night!

I use to sleep in my 70 lwb with a nice shell and carpet kit and was quite comfy and also use to sleep in the back of my nova wagon when i would tow my off road buggy camping. This memorial weekend we will be sleeping in the 72 GMC 4X4 Burb, shouldn't be to bad, my girlfriend and her 8 & 9 year old boys 1 in the front seat 1 in the back seat and my GF and I in the back. I have a later model 2nd seat that folds down and have a full 6' when the seat is up. Going to spend 2 nites in Virginia City, NV for an off road event.

I use my 68 burb as my camper, I pulled the convert to a bed rear seat out of a conversion van, and with a little modification, my rear seat fold to a comfy bed. My wife loves it, and so do I. I have driven my 750 dollar burb all over the US, and never paid a hotel bill. I used to tent out, but then when it rains, yuck. Now, I never get wet, there are never mosquitos, (well, hardly) and when I dont use it, it is a full width seat, which accomidate 5 children or 4 adults, and 3 SAFELY! After stuffing 3 adults in the front, and another 3 in the third seat, well, this thing hauls some people. There will never be another truck like it for me.

Well, I haven't spent the night in my 70 GMC, but I have spent many a night in my stinkin little car! Mostly because of being on the road, and in between towns, feeling tired, and pulling over in the middle of nowhere! Damn car is uncomfortable, even with the seats fully reclined. I vow to take the truck out camping this summer though. I'd love to get a camper for my truck, but I need to get some rigging attached to hold the camper in place.

Not in a truck but, I have spent several nights in a car on trips to go look at vehicles! Drive all night to get there, park at a nearby gas station and sleep there til they open and go look at the vehicle. Some time we would get there way to early so we would drive around and check things out and terrorize the small country side! Fun Times! Firecrackers on front porches and what not! lol

Heh Imagine this if you will...

5 Marines, 1 extended cab 98 Ford Ranger.

We drove down from Monterey Ca to Camp Pendleton Ca (462 miles) on a Friday night after PT. I didn't have my GF's address and they couldn't contact their friends either, so we pulled up in front of the Main exchange. Three in the front, two in the back. I was curled up behind the front seats on the floorboard because I was the smallest and they couldn't lean their seats back any other way.

Woke up the next morning with about three MP patrol cars surrounding us and a SSgt tapping on the window saying...
" Uhhhh, excuse my guys but what the F$%k are you doing?"
