Re: Pictures of truck today in the snow!!!!

You know, I'm confused about something. I realize not everybody has garage space for their trucks. But I've seen some REALLY nicely restored trucks sitting out in the weather that don't have so much as a bed sheet over them. I understand if it's just a work truck and maybe the concern over degredation is not there, but for the nicer trucks, or even just the middle of the road daily drivers... If you live in snow country, spend a little money and get a TRUCK COVER! I mean holy crap, you spend tons of money on the resto but stop short of caring for it afterwards... Kind of sad to see.

My truck may not be nice, but for what it's worth, mine is parked in the garage every night. I only have a pic of it in the street because I wanted to shovel my driveway before I drove through the snow after I got home from work. When I was done it went straight to the garage.

Snow doesn't hurt a vehicle. Neither does rain. The sun is a little hard on them but up here the angle of the sun is so low and there are so few hours of daylight in the day it isn't an issue.

Now if you leave your truck dirty, that can be hard on it.

I guess I'd rather leave it outside uncovered because all the cover is going to do is rub on the paint and cause bigger issues.

FWIW, my truck with plow attached are inside.

Re: Pictures of truck today in the snow!!!!

Covers do have some bad affects in wetter climates.I asked my long time stitch what was the best cover to use on a car kept outside and he answered,"A garage".
Any moisture that gets through the fabric gets trapped there longer.
Really well sealed covers trap moisture rising up from the ground.
then,there`s condensation.

So,when using a cover it`s important to "maintain" the situation. You need to remove/dry/cover often.

I just brush snow off (carefully) when it`s over. The sun melts whatever is left.I don`t have anything restored right now.Pretty much because I don`t have a garage to park them in.

The Blazer likes summer much better when the snow plow and top come off and it becomes a nice weather play toy.

Re: Pictures of truck today in the snow!!!!

Too cool. we dont get snow like that down here in se az. Back in the day were would barrow a friends dads 68 3/4 4x4 and go plow our way to the liqour store. get a case and a bottle and spend the rest of the day randomly plowing snow. greate fun except one time getting stuck and having to walk 5 miles to get a tractor to pull us out. No Regrets!

It`s a wonderfully refreshing and cleansing element that falls from the sky to beautify the earth and to remind folks that slowing down every now and then isn`t such a bad thing.

I'm still amazed that you guys with the nicer trucks don't have covers for them. We should be preserving these beasts for generations to come!

Re: Pictures of truck today in the snow!!!!

When I brought Gertie home, is was snowing/raining. The next day we had 7 inches. I didn't take any pictures. But you can see some in the background. We got some snow , but this week our over night lows hit 17 below. I didn't start it for two days, but she started right up. Next strom, i'll take some pictures and post them. I just put on some BF Goodrich A/T tires.

Re: Pictures of truck today in the snow!!!!

Didn't get a lot of snow from this storm, but the next 45 days should bring a big one to Denver. I got the choke problem fixed and I'm working away at the list! Are there any more Pics from the big storms back east?
