Thanks Robb, the seats need to have holes drilled for them but the nice thing is the seat belts are integrated and it also adds a shoulder belt which is nice to have.

Did some work on the panel today and took it for a drive. I got my new wheel spacers so I can finally drive it with the new rims. They were rubbing on the inside of the fenders in the back. I also cut up the dash so I can put in a modern radio, and I removed the roof mounted rear view mirror and replaced it with the old one from my 96 caprice.
       went from a roof mounted rear view to a glass mounted one I had left over from my 9C1 Caprice  And a quick youtube vid |

It will get there eventually, the one in my avatar is my old 72 burb. I'm focusing on getting this one running better right now then a static drop then some body and paint.

I'm heading down to Truck Shop in Orange County tomorrow to pickup some goodies for the panel! I should have some updates after this weekend! (would be sooner but I'm going to vegas for my birthday this weekend)

Now you need to get a Grant GT steering wheel, some plywood paneling and insulation for the interior walls, some shag carpeting, put a port hole vent in the roof in the back, a box on the floor with some speakers in it and put the spare tire inside of the box. Put some carpeting on the back doors and get some fake velvet for the front doors and a 1000 watt stereo with some subs and maybe even a Bow Tie window for the sides and you would be set.
Tint the back windows and put a curtain behind the front seat that is blue and it would be a awesome shagging wagon. Don't forget to get some shocks, my truck never rode that rough - even the day I parked it. |

just starting restro on 1969 panel.was originaly bought by granfather new.Looking for matching number 396 block,at moment it has 454.
It also has 3 on the tree.I will be replacing with late model auto with o.d..I would love 6 spd but dont want to cut the floor either.Ill try to post some pics on here soon |

the motor will still add value.The overdrive trans will be easy swap to reinstall original.Biggest thing to change back will be steering colum with the 3 on the tree.I plan on doing some work in the 396 to make it run.If block is thick enough(some of these are its 50/50 shot) I can bore it and stroke it to give me what I want.Plus some good head work will fix flow problems.Im new to restoring but have 30 years building prodrag motors and That the part I know well.Now doing restoration and trying to keep it close enough to factory to make full restoration simple is trick I have to work on.
I don't realy plan on resale any time soon.I grew up riding,and taking trips in this truck.I was 3 when it was bought.Now If your stupid and have tons of money to throw at me when its done that another story.Everything is for sale if the $$ is high enough. |

Well, I got a few of the parts I bought from Truck Shop installed. Nothing too crazy, just some door panels, arm rests, rear plate bracket, and some other small trim pieces that were missing.

hey Sublvr, I was checking out your vid thanks for posting it. Your panel is cleaning up really well. I was wondering what the heck you ran over near the end on the vid.........kinda made me laugh cause it happens after the camera was panning behind you. Anyway, I'm enjoying watching your progress reports.

Thanks Robb, That area has some huge drainage ruts. I didn't see it, so I went over it kind of fast which make the truck jump up a little bit.

How is the ride quality with the 35 series and 22s?

the ride isn't that bad, the nice thing about these trucks is the coil suspension rides pretty nice so I hardly notice any difference in the ride quality. It's going to get static dropped for now then eventually bagged.

Did some work on the panel today, went over to a GMFS member's house and we got some work done on the trucks. Both the 71 C-1 and my 69 panel got lowered. I'm happy with the results!
        this fell off while I was under there....no idea what it went to so it went to the dumpster
