Re: Low Budget '70 C-10

I checked out that website with the paint, it seems to good to be true, wonder how the quality is, I think for that price I might have to try it and find out for myself. thanks.

Re: Low Budget '70 C-10

I talked to Hottruck for a while today and he gave me alot of good info on and air bag suspension, now I think I might stick with the true rat rod style, who cares what it looks like as long as it goes down the road good and hauls ass. think i'll drive her in primer for now and pull the trigger on doing the suspension.

Thanx Blue.....it all time!!! as a matter of fact I scored another 500 yesterday I'm going to pull the heads and give it a valve job and clean up the bowls ( I think I have one burnt or bent??) get some new lifters and swap them out..I should be into it for the price of a set of gaskets and 5 hours labor but it will free up another few ponies.....

Re: Low Budget '70 C-10

Me and my father inlaw were talking about that, the frame on the truck is nice, just a little surface rust here and there, and the bed is nice too, but the cab is wasted. I think its just from dirt and leaves getting down into the cowl and sitting for 40 years.

Re: Low Budget '70 C-10

I had to do some crazy s#@t to my truck today, the hood and fender match up perfect on the pass. side but are way off on the driver side. the front edge is perfect, but the driverside fender is 1/4 in. further forward and the back of the hood hits the fender while there is a 3/4 in. gap in the front, I tried adjusting and shiming everything, but nothing helps. Also the driver fender is all the way forward, so it leaves a gap between the door, but thats only an 1/8 in. not much at all. So in order to make everything fit just right, I had to push the driver fender back, and to make this happen, I had to cut about a 1/4 off the back off the fender, I know its crazy but it worked perfect.

Re: Low Budget '70 C-10

I HATE BODY WORK!!!

but i would say that you have a rad support issue that is not holding up the DS nose and the sag is what is causing this...I have been fighting body fit crap for awhile .....this is what I was told check ALL you cab mounts first then hang your doors then the front can be shimmed to fit

Re: Low Budget '70 C-10

the frame and rad. support is in great shape, all rust free, the hood and frenders are aftermarket, and someone beat the hell out of them, the driver side fender was longer than the pass. fender, so I cut it, i'm not scared (after about a 6 pack) to cut and weld. You should see what i can do after about 12 cold ones (like run a screwdriver through my hand doing a brake job)
