This has the standard 1/2 ton through 1 ton front sheetmetal. You can tell because in the picture where he's moving the cab (with the chainsaw) you can see a good profile of the hood, and it's rounded at the back. The big bolt front clips have a little bit of a point there because the fenders come up higher into the hood, as well as being longer.

This is from BBEEP's build thread, the big bolt hood is on top of the 1/2 ton hood:

Re: 47 1-Ton to S10 build

Thanks. I was leaning toward him having the standard front end but was hopeful I had found someone that was going to try and use the Big Bolt front end on this kind of swap.

I have a50 GMC with the Big Bolt nose and I want to put it on an S10 but the problem is i can't justify swapping the nose off because it is original to the truck and belonged to my wife's grandpa. We'll see what happens.

Pic of the frame just needs shock mounts and sway bar mounts welded up.

Cab in the process of being mounted. Went on pretty smooth with the Kubota.

[QUOTE=bustac;4629832]Pic of the frame just needs shock mounts and sway bar mounts welded up.

Question: Is the sway bar stock s10 and did it bolt up in stock location?

Confused on the sway bar I am thinking of installing one on my project and the frame I have does not have one.

Re: 47 1-Ton to S10 build

My S-15 already had one, so there bolt holes under the frame for the mounting brackets, I'm using one of the heavy duty ZQ8 bars which is a direct bolt on. I just need to weld some tabs to my lower arms to bolt the end links to.

ok, Can you show me a picture on how your endlinks are? Are you using a factory stye bar endlnk? I notice when the bags are deflated the endinks are way out of wack (at an incorrct angle and almost to the point of being bent).

Looks great! What gas tank and headers are you using?

Re: 47 1-Ton to S10 build

Do the headers you used provide ample room for the steering shaft?

Clearance on the steering shaft was good, I had trim the two outer ears of the 4L80E transmission which I'm told is pretty standard.

They're LS1 adapter mounts with stock GM mounts raised up about
1" I did notch the frame a little to fit the stock A/C compressor.

Did you use the truck oil pan or did you switch to an F-body one? What did you use for motor mounts? Looks good!

Right now I still have the truck pan and it does hang low. If I lower the bags all the way it sits right on the ground. Might just make some sort of skid plate?

I finally have some updates, making bed mounts and test fitting wheels with the bed. Couple pics and a shot of the 5.3...
