Re: 67 C-10 project.

Well, today i looked and looked and looked for my wire brush atachment that goes on my grinder and i can't find it anywhere. i just saw it not too long ago. So i went to lowes and bought two of em, one really coarse and stiff, the other a little finer. So i now expect to find the one i was looking for since i bought new ones So, my plan was to try and remove my front bumper and bring it in the garage and start to try and get it straightened up and cleaned up. but the darn bolts are turning and the front of the bolt is all rounded over so i'm not sure how to hold em to keep em from turning so i can get the darn nuts off! so i started to wire brush off the rust and old paint. it's looking better already! i got some pics on my phone, just need to figure out how to get them on here! a tiny bit of progress made!!

Re: 67 C-10 project.

i found a can of grey primer that i sprayed on it just to cover the bare metal. it will more than likely all come back over in due time. trying to get them bolts off is going to be a pain i think! And i saw a crack in the fender as well that i think i can get lined back up, but i'm not sure if my welder is big enough to weld metal this thick! it's a lincoln mig welder...not sure what model. I've never used it in 8 years!!

Re: 67 C-10 project.

wow 8 years well that is going to look good you should mask off the grille trim and headlight bezels and give them a nice white paint that would look good

Re: 67 C-10 project.

yeah, once i can get the bumper off, i'll look at getting the front grill off as well. the trim looks to be in pretty good condition. i think i'll just shine it up a little with some fine steel wool. i can see the original white paint still so i do think i will go back to original white. where does the green paint stop at?

Re: 67 C-10 project.

well the big holes that are like an upside down triangl those are the correct holes but the top ones and the ones with scres still in them are the wrong ones you need to weld those upa nd the lowest model trucks only had one sunvisor for driver and one mirror for the driver
