Re: What's this truck worth?
I was wondering that too. A 67-72 didn't have an accumulator did it? Thought that started in 76 or so? 67-72 has a filter dryer on the core support and an expansion valve at the evaporator-I think.

Re: What's this truck worth?
I have to agree, 10-12K cleaned up nice. Maybe worth 14-15K to those up in the rust belt, they seem to go for more up there.

Re: What's this truck worth?
If you run across a BB SWB in this condition at $10K, let me know.

Re: What's this truck worth?
In Missouri the car restoration shops like Fastlane in St. Charles and Gateway Custom Classics in Fairmount City IL usually price these between 10-20k.

Re: What's this truck worth?
^^^^--yea right, I looked at their website, had two c-10's neither under $20k.......Like I said, find me one in this condition sporting a BB for $10k....not gonna happen.
I find it comical that most guys say the truck isn't worth anywhere near his asking price, but when they go to price their truck it's worth that much and more. |

Re: What's this truck worth?
^^ Im certainly sure they have them for 10-20 routinely, but not in this condition. I can pull up ebay and show you 10 trucks in the $10k-20K price range doesnt mean anything.
Have you looked at the truck the OP is referring to? The truck is a 3 hour cleaning away from being a mint truck. and a BB at that... .the truck posted on fast lane's website wasnt even a BB truck and they were asking 24k |

Re: What's this truck worth?
Yeah I saw the truck, it's a nice truck for 14 grand and as you said you can find quite a few on ebay in the same condition for 10-20k. But as the old saying goes "a sucka is born every minute"!

Re: What's this truck worth?
A truck like this would be at least $20K up here in MT if it was a true super and needed only minor fixes.

Re: What's this truck worth?
My biggest reservation on this is that it is missing some true "super" items and all the obvious issues that are simple fixes give the impression that a lot more was done halfway (like possible hidden bondo on the body work). May be unfair, but the little things would turn me off if I was in the market.
That is why on my build I'm making sure to document everything a super has, confirm mine is a true BB super, and using the best quality parts I can. And mine will be 100% detailed when I place it for sale....inside, out, engine bay, and undercarriage

Re: What's this truck worth?
I would for sure do my homework before buying this or any truck, I got burned once and learned my lesson.

Re: What's this truck worth?
Not even close to $32k. The Cheech and Chong wheels and tires have gotta go.

Re: What's this truck worth?
Also want to note to anyone looking at it...that the fastlane linked truck for 24K isn't a super. it has woodgrain overlays. Again, a nice truck, but also more like a 10-12K truck. It is detailed nicely but not a super or a bb...and there are swirls in the paint and the door panel woodgrain is worn/used....but it does have buckets

Re: What's this truck worth?
I would have it fully detailed and throw it up for 20k. And yes, rust free pieces are worth mucho bucks in the "rust belt"

Re: What's this truck worth?
Here in Coarsegold, CA, I'm right here with you big_al_71. If everything works, $15k.
Problem: Everybody making a price assessment has an opinion based upon their geography, size of the computer screen, whether he/she have been inside for three months of snow. Whether they like red or white or (IMHO, it's better to call them "aftermarket") wheels. Or, or, or, or, and, and, and. Every appraiser I know actually goes to see the vehicle, climbs under it, listens to it run, feels the cold air. Basically, eyeballs and looks to see if everything works...and works well. So, a general idea of value is based upon generalities. With the only specifics being, when we look at it like this, the overall economy, and the exact market condition where the wheels are actually sitting on the ground. I think that the consensus of the Board Members is that this truck is worth less than the asking price. Again, there are all kinds of reasons for the SELLER's pricing. I'm reminded of the guy that had to sell his Porsche because of a divorce. The car was easily worth $60,000. He priced it at $121,500. He left for work. His wife sold the Porsche. For $900. She gave him half.

Re: What's this truck worth?
Worth is set by the buyer, not the seller. Regardless of how it's optioned.
It appears it's "worth" somewhere between $10k and $15k. |
