Re: notching when u drop

nice thanks alot guys imma post my pictures of my truck tomorrow of my sanding and body work. Im almost done with it next would be matte black paint... YAY! with some aggressive old school cragars 15x8 in the front and 15x10 in the rear... what would be a good size tire for a 15x10 the one it has on there now is a 275/60/15 but it bubbles too much its too streched it looks like one bump will pop it off...

Im thinking of notching for my 5inch flip kit just incase but drilling into the frame doesnt look fun....might try those short bumpstops first.

Re: notching when u drop

here are the cragars i will b running on the truck i bought these for 50 bucks i just need a good set of tires for them. What would be a good tire for the rears since they are 10 inches wide? right now it has a 275/60/15 but its too bubbly looks like its about to pop off cause its too small...

Re: notching when u drop

Doesnt look like this has been said, but you can drop the rear of your truck 7"s with out a c-notch. However you have to take off the factory bump stop location. And dont plan on hauling a load unless you have an air over leaf system.

Re: notching when u drop

I keep reading that you don't need a notch with a flipkit, but on my crew project I have had a chance to drive it around a few times and pulling out of parking lots and going over speed-bumps it seems to bump pretty good.
*EDIT* - this is with the c-notch's installed, I guess I didn't make that clear. I get a pretty good bump coming down the backside of a speed-bump WITH THE C-NOTCH INSTALLED.
If I didn't have the notch installed, I would be hitting the axle housing with every pebble in the road.

I assume I am hitting the bump stops that came with the flipkit (Belltech), but it sems like a pretty rough bump?
I know it is a crew, but the rear half of the frame is from a 1/2 ton swb so the shouldn't be an issue.

I was told the same thing on my '06 GMC swb when I did shackles & hangers, but it bottomed out on every bump in the road I went over.
I had to do a notch on that one for my own sanity...
