Re: pics of recent trip to salvage yard

I have several videos but I can't seem to figure out how to upload them. Maybe the files are too big. I mostly took video of the 67-72 chevy/ GMCs. I guess I should have just stuck to pictures.

Re: pics of recent trip to salvage yard

The first Pontiac (yellow) is a '66. Next one is a '63 Gran Prix. Then, and not in order, I saw '60 Pontiac wagons, and a sedan. The small wagon was a '61 Baby Buick. It became the Skylark, but what it was escapes me right now. Had an AMT model of one that I acquired. Studebakers, Packards, and the green '59 Chevy Biscayne is just like one that a good friend had. Well, it belonged to his folks. We did some serious running around in it before we went our separate ways.

To tell you the truth I didn't really look at it too well. I was out there for about an hour and half taking photos around 4 in the afternoon. It was about 107 degrees that day. I had some time too kill while they were getting the parts for me. I was real salty afterwards.

I will most likely be going back on Thursday. I can check again.

I've talked to one of the owners about their yard. He said it just started out as an overflow for some of the projects he had been working on. They have several thousand cars and trucks. The began nearly 20 years ago.

The "rarest" thing I recall seeing there was they had about 3 Zephers. I talked to one of the owners about the Zephers and he said they were that rare. He knows of one in Oklahoma that apparently is still in driving condition. Yes, they are both for sale as a whole and as parts. I have wanted to take some pictures of the inside of their office. The have some of the rare and nice parts hanging everywhere. They even have some NOS parts for various cars and trucks.

I am not affiliated with these owners or their yard. I just happen to like going there. I know it is something kinda special to find places like this.

Wow! I am impressed. I have literally hundreds more photos of this place. You wouldn't believe me if I told you but on that day I only walked around half of the permiter and took a "few" pictures of some of the cars. I didn't even bother to walk down the main section of the yard. They have them all grouped with make and model.

The yard is just outside of Denton, Texas. It is located on the south-bound side of I-35 just north of Denton.

Re: pics of recent trip to salvage yard

Great pics, thanks for sharing. Gives me hope, that they all haven`t been crushed. I plan on being out that way next year, would love to stop by. If you stop by again, take some 55 Chevy car pics for me, or any tri 5 pics.

Re: pics of recent trip to salvage yard

Any idea what they are asking for a pax fender for a 70 GMC? I need to head up there. I have driven by that place since I was a kid on our way to Kansas but have never stopped.

Re: pics of recent trip to salvage yard

As a shameless plug for info on another thread of mine, does anyone know of some good resources for info on part numbers, colors used, and picture images of factory original stuff for our year trucks?

Thanks. I appreciate any help or leads.

Wow.......I'm speechless! I kept lookin' at your pics, backin' up and lookin' again. Late 30's to almost the present (that matters anyway)! Just WOW! Those trucks....ya I could spend a weekend, atleast, in that yard ( wife would be po'd...and she wouldn't get over it either). That 70 Chevelle looks like someone drove up, parked, and left the keys inside...while its running! Man, what place....get the kids in the car! We're goin' to Denton!
Thanks for the pics.....I gotta look again!
