Worked a little more this evening, drilled the frame for larger 7/16 bolts in the trailing arm cross-member. Also finished the engine mounts... just need a transmission mount and I'll drop the engine/trans to get it off the floor. I am working in a two car garage so i need to get the thing into one pile so I will have room to work!

There's new one on your tranny......

Yes Rob, there is a new mount on the transmission. I meant trans cross-member, and ECE is sending one my way. I should be able put the eng/trans in next weekend!

Then the cab can be sat on there temporarily. What size are the mount bolts for the cab?

Front bolts are 9/16" dia. x 6" long and the rear are 7/16" dia. x roughly 5-1/2" long.

This is for a 1/2-ton 2wd. 4x4 & C20 are 6-1/2" long in the rear as the rear bushing is taller and the rear cab mount bracket is moved down 1" vs. a 1/2-ton.

No the front bolts are 9/16" diameter.

I ordered a cab mount kit, as well as a radiator support kit from gmcpaul. I am sure I will recieve the right stuff.

If these and my transmission cross-member get here by Friday, it should be a fun weekend!

Jos - From what I read on the instructions from Energy Suspension, the taller mount goes in the rear. Good luck with your build!

Received a couple of parts today, Big Brown brought my transmission cross-member from ECE and the mail man brought my cab mount bolts from GMC Paul. Installed the cross-member, but the cab mount bolts won't see use for a little while. Hope to get the engine and trans in the frame this weekend. I also ordered a A/C delete kit from Nate at PorterBuilt, should be in sometime next week. I am excited to tackle that little project. Okay picture time... first is of the ECE box where the UPS guy left it, the second is of the chassis with all cross-members installed, and last a pic of the installed transmission cross-member.

Very nice looking project! Frame is coming together nicely. I think the interior would look really nice in silver with all the black in it....seats/dash pad/carpet

What about red? I've seen that done on some black and black/silver trucks and it's a great pop of color....

I really like the look of those billet dash pieces when painted either to match the truck color or painted black...but with a polished edge like the factory did on the gauge clusters...

Been goofing around with gauge ideas in photo shop. I plan to use the Auto Meter American Muscle series. The bezel and glove box door will be painted body color and outside edge will be polished.
