Re: 2 wheel drive conversion

I am running a shackle reversal in the back from DIY4X4 with stock 3/4 ton springs, basically it works reversing the rear shackle to hang down and not have to run a block in the back for lift or stiff lift springs in the rear, you still have stock suspesion ride and reversal makes it ride even better.I am using a 6" Super Lift suspension lift in the front, thought I could clear a 35" tire in the front with 4",but reconsidered and changed to 6".I have a brand new set of 4" rough country springs that all I have done to them was paint them with por15 rust inhibitor and rustolem satin black,I put them in but never have run them, they are good springs too like Superlift. You can easily clear 33" tires with them.

Re: 2 wheel drive conversion

After a year and a half since I took my 2 wheel drive truck apart,I finally have it running and driving.I have a few things I ran into unexspectedly to get straightened out,but my new engine runs awesome and I was able to take it to Pigeon Forge a couple of weeks ago for the spring rod run.I had to replace my break booster I salvaged from my donor truck I thought was good, now I have awsome brakes, the front leaf springs I used had too big of a degree shim in them which made it drive wierd,I took them out and had to put a 2" block in the back to make it sit level.I still have a few things I have to get done, but I can drive it now and enjoy it and can work on the things I want to do to it still along as I can.Name: truck finished.jpg
